Default Motor swap project started

So I picked up this truck from a friend for cheap. The original 360 broke a crank and he pulled the motor and tranny out with plans to rebuild It but after 2 years he gave up. I didn't want to deal with his mess of a motor cause he broke it all down so I went out and got another 360 with said 79k miles on it. I have the truck prepped for the motor. Now I have to start prepping the motor. I will be makin updates and posting pics throughout the day. Any tips or pointers will be helpfull.

Check the plenum before installation. Hell of a lot easier to deal with on an engine stand, than in the truck.

Might wanna do some pre-emptive maintenance as well... .water pump, timing set, etc.... granted it IS low mileage, hopefully...... so, that's gonna be really optional.

No reason to not have motor running like new, in tip top shape when you install it though, right? I would do everything on HeyYou's list.

AS HeyYou stated , check /replace plenum. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Also, remove and install the crank sensor after the motor is bolted to the tranny.

And what year is the truck and what year is the new motor?

Install new frost plugs in the back of the new motor before you install it. It does not matter if they look OK replace them anyway. Cheap parts and there is no better time than now.

Did I forget to mention I just want to get it running so I can sell it? I do not have any more money to put into it. The plenum is bad but I'll let the next owner replace it. I gonna sell it for cheap to make a small profit. I did put new plugs in it and new oil pan gasket and new belt.

Is there a way to post pics from iPhone?

Where would be a good place to bolt my chains for the hoist?

Motor is frOm a 2001 and it is going in a 94 I think. The date of mfr on the door says 94. I don't have the title handy either its at house and I can't remember.

My first issue is that the fuel injector plugs are different so I'm guessing there is a difference between the 01 wiring harness and the 94. The plugs still seem to fit all right just a little different design but it brings to question if there are some differences that will keep it from running?
