I want to relocate my battery to underneath the passenger seat one of these days, and get that stupid battery box out of there altogether. I have a non-spillable battery though. Keep up the good work!

Just a thought, but why not put it over on the other side like an oil burner?

Wouldn't you have to cut out the cloor pan and build in a box?

Benefit for being under pass seat would be ________________ ?

Could do that... but I would like to get it out of the engine bay.

I think it will fit under the seat as it is, since I can mount it on its side. If I have to cut into the floor I won't bother. I want it out of the weather, and out of the way in the engine bay.

Hopefully I can just do it with a few pieces of steel plate and a couple long bolts into the floor or maybe the seat bracket. I haven't given it any real thought, it's just another idea that I will get around to someday. Also, my battery tray is busted up pretty bad, and that nice fancy optima isn't held very securely at the moment...

I always planned on installing dual batteries into a vented box and install the box into a toolbox in the bed (which I hope to get someday). That way its still easy to get to.

With my new yellowtop I don't think I will need dual batteries... I eventually plan to upgrade to a 200 amp alternator. But I'm not gonna try to tell you the idea has't crossed my mind

I think I've got an AutoCraft from '08 under the hood, haven't had a bit of trouble with it. It never's run's down either, can take it out of my truck, slap it in the bro's Hemi (to work on it) and slap it back my truck, and start her right up.

So I got the engine washed down and the battery box cleaned up.

And while I was admiring my work (and waiting for it to dry a little) I looked up and saw this:

Wonder what I will be doing to this.........hmmmmmm.

gd,

Here are some pics I snuck today. You'll notice I have the splice into the start/ignition wire (BLUE), which is then wire nutted to the orange (relays). Looking to determine location of the LED and manual switch first to get all that tied in.

I ran the HOT leads to the front of my battery where they are tied into the winch lead. Initially, I did have them in the PDC. It was a bit tight in there, but it can work depending on the crimped connector you use.

The ground locations I used are driver fender, right behind the headlight. 2 spots, one is on side of fender and other is bottom of fender. Far fan ground just barely makes it to the bottom ground location. These will be tied together later for use with the manual switch. Just not sure how.

I cut excess wire out, red and grey wires. I rolled the purple up. Everything is zip tied tidy for the most part.

I'm using Preset 2 settings.

Let me know your thoughts. I've had no probs yet. Btw, programming is not that clear in the manual. Turn key to ON (no start) and then do the programming.
