Well if their rebuild kits are as good as buying a Viper or MegaViper (when done properly!!!) I'd say most would suggest going for the MegaViper.

For the minor price difference, I will second this motion.

And a warranty....... Something to be said for that. Besides, labor is always the biggest part of the bill in any event.

^^ Yes that is true, but I would think more people would like to do that stuff themselves... like me.

I have a friend who will be rebuilding my transmission, so some labor costs will be substituted with alcohol haha. But it sounds like you guys like the idea! Like I said before, transmissions are a new language for me so any help or advice is helpful.

Advice: Don't let your friend drink until AFTER the rebuild is complete!

Yo, this is exactly an option I've been considering. Only thing I'm kinda batting around on this option getting a junkyard tranny. Yet...should I get a 46re and do one of the viper kits or a 47re and viper kits. Currently, I'm thinking of the latter as plan is to get accompanying 241 tcase. This route requires bellhousing change for the 5.9L for the tranny.

Sorry if this goes off track FireDodge, but thought would add to the topic in terms of further options.

Thoughts?

When rebuilding the transmission, upgrade to the heavier duty Borg-Warner bands over the slim OEM Chrysler bands.
