Hey guys just wondering what kind of CB extreme i should get. I have a Magnaflow high flow cat to a single 2 1/2 inch pipe to a Y and then 2 1/4 inch pipes. It sounds really good right now and is pretty loud but i am worried about back pressure. i know it is a loud muffler and sounds real good so should i get a single in and single out to go onto the 2 1/2 or get a single in dual out? Or does it even matter?

 

Why are you so worried about back pressure? Anything flows better than the stock cat. Unless you want back pressure...

 

No matter what exhaust you go with, it will always have back pressure. Unless you want to run open heads... So whatever kind of muffler you want is entirely up to you

 

It does not matter. Get what you want. Tons of muffler threads on here. Just search a little but.

 

If your Y looks like mine, more like a T than a Y, get rid of it or replace it with a good aftermarket Y.

 

Alright. I have been watching videos on Youtube and my truck with a high flow and the extreme sounds wicked! The reason i am worried about backpressure is because the truck doesnt know what a set of ***** is. LOL So i think putting a muffler on it will make it run a whole lot better after i got a new cap and rotor, plugs, and plug wires. Oh yeah and an Edge evo cs power programmer. lol

 

Do your plenum and timing set as well.

 

+1 on the plenum. Read the sticky. It's the number 1 problem that needs to be fixed, before spending money on any bling.

 

And dont waste your money on that programmer. Spend it on a SCT instead, that is if you can still find one until the new release comes out.

 

Man your completely **** about that plenum aren't you? lol Will putting a muffler on it make it get up and go better? And what is an SCT? I already bought the programmer. It was $460 online and i got it off of a friend practically brand new for $350. Also i checked how much it would be to have the plenum done and they asked if it was upper or lower. I assumed it was upper? They said $300. :/ They is a local auto shop. lol
