so while browsing some trucks on the ole interwebs i came across a few at a dealer about 45 minutes south of me. i called them up, and talked with them about a couple of the trucks(both 2005's, one long, one short bed) i dont have a down payment at the moment, but he wanted me to use my truck as a trade in...
i just couldnt pull the trigger... ive had the truck for 5 years and have put way too much into it to just get 2k for it.
guess ill keep waiting for tax returns...

Wouldn't be an issue if my truck would take a sticker...
But, if you're content with a supposed jackpot at tax time, then have at it.
If you're getting a refund at tax time then you would have some extra money each paycheck if you adjusted your withholding. For example: If you get a refund of $2,000 that means (2000/12 = ) $166.67 extra each month is going to the Government as an interest free loan.

I look at it as a 'savings' account. (not like interest bearing accounts are doing well at the moment anyway.) And a few thousand dollars (or thereabouts) all at once, does more for me than a few extra bucks each paycheck.
For us we always get some back. Some years its more than other years, depends on how much overtime I worked. I know I could have adjusted it to where I just broke even but those few dollars per pay check really was not missed and one year I had to come up with $1800.00 to pay in.
My wife had changed her W2 to reflect that she was claiming herself and our daughter. It made about twenty dollars more in her weekly pay check.
After that I changed things so we always get a refund.
