Frankie,
I think I would hate to write down all I've spent on my build. But I also have been buying parts for it over the last 4+ years so it hasn't hit my wallet as bad. And then I got my 408 kit for free more or less.

The slow drip, drip, drip of funds into the 408 bucket.

His is a faucet dripping, mine was the dam rupturing. Lol

This site is the only reason I have kept track of the expenses like I have. I had decided to keep the excel record for part numbers and prices so people could see how I did mine after the first round of purchases.
I was hoping that when it was all done I could just drop it in here for easy reference with out worrying about broken links... but that will be a project. For now the link will have to suffice. I am going to add it to the first post also so people don't have to go digging to find it. I hope that people can use the info for different projects.

Now for the update. I ordered my pushrods last night from summit. They should be here tomorrow or Thursday hopefully. I also ordered break in oil with them (comp cams 10w-30).
I think the next purchase will be injectors and oil filters, hopefully next week. The nice thing about having my CDL is finding odd jobs on the weekends (I work four 10s Monday thru Thursday). This weekend I have a load of cows to haul to Texas, about 2000 miles round trip. Pays $600 cash

As it stands, I think the only things left to buy are: injectors, tune, adapter for the throttle body, oil filters (yes multiple ), and a couple cases of cheap oil. Once it's broken in I'll switch to a full synthetic oil, though I haven't figured out which one yet. We'll see what happens when I get there.

GRRRR, this is getting annoying. I payed for an M1 intake through PayPal to a private party after a few pm s on here. Went for a few days before I got a response back. They explained what the delay was. They also said it would be shipped out that weekend, Feb 24 I think.
I waited about a week again after that for any kind of shipping details. Around the beginning of March I asked if it had been sent, and if not if they would send me a picture... no response. On March 4 Paypal shows shipping details finally. No tracking info, no proper name (that I could google at least, spee?), nothing.
So yesterday, St. Patrick's day, I started a non receipt claim through PayPal. I'm trying to decide how much longer I should give this person before just pulling the plug and getting my money back. If something doesn't change soon with this, it looks like I'll be going with an Airgap. Should be fun.

For an update on the engine: I purchased 2 cases of cheap oil and 5 oil filters this week. This should give me a good start on the break in. Just waiting on intake, and injectors. FlyinRyan hasn't told me which injectors to get yet. Though his base suggestions was the Holley 30 lbs set.

Ouch, that's not cool. I hope your intake either comes in or you get your cash back and it all works out for you.

The only time they've been active is PMing me. Last was on Feb 24th. No threads or posts. They also haven't answered any direct emails from me. I'm hoping that PayPal will get their attention.
I probably fell for an easy trap, but thankfully covered my butt with PayPal. I only went with them because I had seen them active on other forums. Live and learn.
