Well, good news of the moment is I got my money back through PayPal for the intake. It showed up quicker than I was expecting. Now to get another intake coming.
By the way, anyone dealing with Brittnay Briggs, be warned. I don't know if she is an actual crook or not, but she is the one I have had all this trouble with. It was my own fault that this happened, but I don't want to see people follow me there.
Damn I hate bills. Lol. I now have the tune paid for, but still need to buy an intake and injectors. $900 and a few more miscellaneous parts and this thing will be running hopefully. Probably in the next month or two.
And for anyone that's curious, FlyinRyan has his own website up and running now: frptuning.com
Well, finally found the money for the injectors and the airgap. The injectors showed up last week, and the intake should be here monday (6/13/16).
I should hopefully have the first fire in about 2 weeks. I've updated the Excel cost breakdown with everything purchased so far. I think all that's left is the assorted nuts and bolts that disappear until you buy new ones.
Engine fire on the 98. It also took a lot of the wiring under the dash. I think the crossover line for the fuel rail sprung a leak.
It ran, pumping fuel on to the fire, until the wires finally shorted out enough to kill it.
The 97 was also a 1500 with auto, the 98 was a 2500 with manual. 3/4 ton benefits with out changing registration. Win/win for me.
In other news, my intake just showed up. I'll put some pictures up in a bit.

Gotcha! A cab swap is a lot of work, and I know from experience, pulling a cab off one of these trucks isn't easy...
Mine wasn't that bad. Two of us got it done in a 3 day weekend. Of course we had a backhoe and lots of room to work.
I pulled the hood, bumper, and radiator stuff off: then just unplugged the ECM and a few other electrical connections and laid them over the engine. Then the assorted linkages (on both trucks). We then lifted the cab and front clip off of the 98 and set it aside, then the engine. I just put a ratchet strap under the tranny to hold it up.
We then pulled the motor out of the 97 and installed it in the open 98 frame (lord that was nice ). Once that was settled in place I cut the heads off of 4 short bolts and ran them into the shift tower bolt holes through a rag.
Then we moved the 97 cab and front clip (yes, as one piece) over and used the indents from the "studs" in the shift tower to cut out where the shifter went. The front seats were out and carpet with padding pulled back by this point. I then decided I wanted to use the 98 4X4 shifter so I could use the 98 console. SO... I went to chopping the floor out to make it fit. We then cut a piece of flashing to cover the old 4X4 shifter hole and gooped it up with black RTV, then anchored it with a few self tappers.
I was just planning on using the original pedal hangar, but there was a piece of webbing right were I needed to drill the hole for the clutch linkage, so I swapped it out with the 98. Since I was that far in I put the 98 steering column in too. I grounded the neutral safety to the body (or the trans, can't remember now) and spliced the reverse lights into the proper pigtail.
Most everything else was plug and play (CPKs are different lengths), but i did have to swap 1 wire in the plug under the left front side of the cab to get the fuel gauge to work. The ground leads lined up, but the power lead from the 98 harness ran to a blank hole on the 97 harness.
OK, OK... It didn't seem like much work when I did it, but that was a project to type up. Wish I had more pictures, but we were all a**holes and elbows so I could return my ex-bosses truck as soon as possible.
97 Floor with with 98 4X4 shifter fit in. The big hole between the 2 sticks was filled in with a piece of flashing, Siliconed and screwed down.
98 column in the 97. Dash still torn apart and bungee cord to keep the brake light off.
