Headed in the right direction
Its tough to tell by that sheet because it doesn't give accurate descriptions.
I do think you have some internal upgrades from a stock trans though.
I hate to say I don't think what you got is comparable to an APS or Dr evil trans.
On the other hand I don't think it's a POS but it isn't a super duper indestructible racing trans.
Just because it's rebuilt doesn't make it ****. But you knew it wasn't a brand new unit when you got it.
The trans price was around $3000 right? but your total bill was 4k with all the other work you had done there and tax.
I'm not surprised the TPS fixed the pedal issue. I think myself and others mentioned that a while back.
Did they replace the PCM too?
I don't think you got gouged on the trans price but you certainly didn't get a deal.
Too bad about all the crap you been through with the problems. It sound like most of it is from poor workmanship and misdiagnosis.
I think your TPS was bad before you ever got the trans replaced.
If anything you might owe them for the cost of the TPS but certainly not any labor.
Any trans shop should know enough to check the TPS FIRST if there is a trans shifting issue.
I bet if you back off the TV cable you will be happier with the shift.
Good Luck

All of these sensor issue the transmission started having were after they tried toning the shifts down. Initially when I first got the truck, it was clunking out of first gear hard, loosing power way too early in the powerband, and skipping into overdrive. After I finally got them to smooth the first gear shift and try to fix the overdrip skip, the pedal issue in overdrive began. So keep in mind all of these symptoms came one after another. The tps sensor was not bad inititally, but once they started trying to make their unit shift properly, more things kept getting worse. And as I said before, everytime they fix one thing, something else gets worse. Now my pedal isn't sensitive in overdrive anymore, but now it's having a hard time shifting out of gears. Sometimes even with light acceleration, it will shift at 3,000 rpms out of first. If I'm merging onto the highway it will just sit at 3,000rpms and keep gaining speed. IT shifted into overdrive at 65mph, I had to let off for it to shift into overdrive. I tried passing somebody on a backroad and the truck redlined and hit the governor because it refused to shift and went to 5200rpms. So now the truck is staying in gears too long. They didn't just replace the tps sensor either, they got lazy and just aimlessly replaced all of the sensors and whacked me with all three or four sensors. All of which were fine before they started trying to make their hard shifting transmission shift smooth. I don't even know what to think, but what I do know is that they sure as heck shouldn't be trying to get more money out of me. Did you know they charged me $85 to tackweld one exhaust hanger?? Sketchy people is all I can say. I have no idea what the future will bring, but Tuesday we're hiring a lawyer, I don't know what's going to happen.

well i just love how they told you that they put in a racing torque converter and all this other bull****. when infact they didnt... they gave you a reman'ed torque converter.
4000 dollars. I got a shift kit, upgraded bands, and a HD torque converter in mine for 2200 with labor.
just remember to move the TV in the smallest increments possible. there are tiny notches, so mark where its at first before you move it. then move it looser? tighter? to make it shift sooner.
remember, SMALL SMALL increments.

I got a shift kit, new HD TC, new bands, new clutches, new valve body, new external cooler, tranny mount, and paid $2800 out the door with a nationwide 1yr/12K warranty.
its not as cheap as $2200, but it sure as heck isn't $4000 for a transmission built on lies.
best of luck.

Lol I don't think that transmission is too "heavy duty". I think about the only fancy thing you got is the deep pan and the transmission cooler and the cooler you got doesn't look all that fancy to me. It basically just looks like a normal run of the mill cooler. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It might be a few upgrades in there as the bands may be slightly better but honestly I don't see anything all that special that a basic rebuild doesn't have. I wouldn't count on it being too heavy duty but maybe it is and just not what I expect to see. Who knows. It doesn't have a shift kit or really anything all that fancy looking. I can't believe after all this it's still not shifting right. I think they should have let you known it was the TPS and then if you wanted to change it charge you for the part however since they did all that stuff without letting you know that they were charging you for it I don't think you should have to pay them.
Are you going to a lawyer now? You should not still having to be messing with this thing trying to get it to shift right. I think you got unlucky with this thing.

You would be surprised how many auto parts claimed as new actually contain 'some'
used or reman parts...
I would be VERY surprised if these Hi-perf trans that are sold by repudable companies are 100% new assemblies.
Just because it a reman torque converter doesn't mean it isn't Heavy Duty.
