I am hoping that by now, at this hour you are driving around in your truck with the transmission working perfectly. So you can move on to the next issue.
I hate to see issues affect a person to the point it makes them sick.
Been there done that, got the T-Shirt, and the truck to prove it.

It only takes it being overloaded once to f up a trans.

Ok guys a lot going on here, bare with me. So yesterday (8/28/08), transmission shop called me and told me to come take it around 3:30. When I got there he said they had replaced pigtails, tps sensor, part of the wiring harness etc. He said take it for the night and report back to me tomorrow. So last night I drove it around, and finally, the sensitive pedal in overdrive was gone, didn't do it once. I did notice however, that some of the gears were extending too long, they'd just keep going and going and then finally shift. It bothered me, but I was more happy the big problem was finally gone.

(Long story short). This morning I call him to report back that the pedal issue was finally gone. He says ok good. So then I said I'll see you next year for the fluid change. Then he says ok, and what about the balance? And I said balance? He's like yeah, for the labor and parts. I'm like how much guy? He says $460. I couldn't believe it, he was trying to get more money out of me. He finally fixes the problem by aimlessly replacing all sensors and tries to hit me up. I was furious. So I drove down there. He had a smile on because he thought he was getting his money. I told him the problem was fixed but that I didn't think I should pay him. I told him I've already lost my shirt when I bought smaller tires and took the lift off, let alone the original $4,000 transmission. He instantly freaks out and starts having a hissy fit. He points to the door and says GET OUT. I don't want to see you or your truck again. If your trying to get out of my bill, I want you to get out right now. I then demanded for the buildsheet. So he printed me off the buildsheet. He took it out back thoug once it printed and cut both sheets down the middle, probably hiding something more. He then tried to go and explain how he's done so much for me and how he's lost so much money on me blah blah blah. He then said I don't know what planet your on, but were on two different ****ing planets, and then he walked out back and left me. So I went out into my truck and I called my dad. He told me to get out of there and that we were going to sue them. My dad said he's clearly charging me that much because the guy obviously thinks he's lost HIS shirt on the transmission. With all of this said, the transmission still won't shift at full throttle, it just keeps going and on going in one gear. So a lot went down. I couldnt believe he was trying to get more money out of me. He finally fixes it, and then gives me a bill. So now that my dad is fully intune we will be hiring a lawyer. Crazy huh? I'm going to make another post of the buildsheet. Will take me a while, hold on.

So maybe the sensitive pedal was the TPS which is unrelated to the transmission however I don't think they should have replaced it without asking you first if they were going to charge you for it.

As for the not shifting at WOT maybe your TV cable is too tight. That's kind of what it sounds like to me.

This shop just sounds like a crappy shop all around. Aren't you glad you didn't let them put that lsd in?

For the fluid change I'd just do it yourself. Not a hard job at all.

Why would you not expect to pay for trouble shooting, labor and parts when the problem (TPS) is not related to the transmission work they did? You asked them to fix the problem , and gave them the truck for 2 weeks! I see NO grounds for taking them to court, they might suck and can't figure out that a 2 minute job adjusting the TV cable correctly will solve the WOT issue (which is something you can do yourself), but it is still a fact that the trans they put in is fine.

And I said from day 1 that there is a TV cable problem! But it seems that it was never really looked in to.

Because the amount of hassle they have put me through. He told me it was my lift and tires that were causing all of the problems. So I took the initiative and took the vehicle down to stock and spent over $1400 in doing so (labor, tires, shocks). They gave me no communication that they were changing all of those sensors either. They just went in there and replaced all of the main sensors and hoped it would fix the problem. Sure enough it did. So now there trying to whack me for all four sensors and wiring work, that is not my problem. Besides, the amount of time and stress I've had to go through to have these guys finetune their transmission is absurd. It's still not right either, whether it be a too tight tv cable or not, it's something they could easily do. What I do know is that those sensors were not bad when I had my old transmission, it's something they did on their own watch. Then they finally fix it, and slap me with a $400 plus bill that I sure as hell cannot afford, especially have what I've already given them. They've already received their cheese, I don't owe them anymore money.

Because it is under warranty. If they looked the tranny up and down and told him "Hey, its not the tranny, but we think..." yada yada, then thats one thing. But they kept changing stuff that would fix some of the problems, or fix most/all but create others.

If its under warranty, any troubleshooting related to the tranny should be free. Thats how we do things at Best Buy (for computers, TVs, etc.) as well when it comes to our service plans.

Percisely. That problem with it dropping in and out of lockup started once they started messing around with making the transmission shift smoother. In fact, it started after I had them try to smooth out the overdrive shift. After they tried to fix it, that's when it started getting worse and worse. Those sensors were perfectly fine prior to the new transmission. From day one it shifted like ***, and the more and more I tried to get them to finetune it, one thing would improve while others things will regress, like a seasaw. Now that they've finally fixed that issue, they want more money out of me, as if I'm a money machine. I couldn't believe he wanted a balance. Then he just started throwing a big fit trying to kick me out of his shop. He told me that it was a performance transmission and that I should have expected it to have harder shifts. Hard shifts are one thing, but giant clunks, and skips into overdrive are not "performance" shifts. He said when they tried to soften the transmission that's why some things are different. So basically if I want it performance, it has to shift like complete ***. And if I want smooth shifts, I have to have a skpping transmission that can't shift at wide open throttle. Deal right?
