do you think it would have any ill effects not having the vent or the vac lines on the transfer case for about 1000 miles? and do you think i could get away with strangling that guy?
just an fyi the plug you found goes to the transfer case and conects to the switch that controls your 4x4 cad vacuum from the manifold goes to the switch and then from the switch to the cad on the front axel so the only thing not conecting it would do is cause a vacuum leak and keep your 4x4 from working. just thought you might want to know.

Yeah I know that now. I actually just pulled my transfer case out for the 2nd time yesterday and I remembered to plug those back in, I don't see how that guy could have forgotten them since he does transmissions for a living.

I'm a programmer who uses vim all day, so I'm pretty darn fast on the keyboard already. Thanks just the same for the tip, though, as I've got grandkids who might benefit from it. I've kept my nose out of it since windoze is what they have to work with in school, but the oldest will be taking engineering classes when he starts high school in the Fall so I might get him away from the dark side yet. I love corrupting the grandkids!

Default Couple Question's

So If I understand this correctly If you can blow thru the check valve its good?

Also, do you install them with the airflow side toward the engine?

should only be able to blow thru it one way. (direction of the arrow.) Install with arrow toward engine.

These are still only available thru the dealer? And how bad is it to seperate the lines from the check valves, without breaking the lines?

A good pull will get the valve out of the line, maybe a twist and a pull.
The dealer still has them, Don't forget about the one on the side of the intake manifold, that one normally gets oil in it and gets messed up (thats the one that was bad on mine, my sisters and my dads trucks).
The parts stores check valves aren't the right size, they're normally different sizes on each end so you have to get them from the dealer (but they're cheap and you only need two so that's ok).

Sheriff,
The one on the intake is the one thats bad with mine also.. But I can not find them at any dealers, they don't even have a listing for them. The ones they had laying around were way to small in diameter..
