automatic transmission part
so this past weekend i did a tranny service on my 04 cummins with a 48re auto in it. had troubles with the truck not starting off in first all the time. was told it was the gov. solenoid and transducer. well i replaced them and put in a new filter and fluid. anyway, on the magnet i found a small piece of curved metal measuring about 2" long, 1/16" thick and 1/4" wide.
after looking up in the tranny some i found another similar piece only longer. ends actually meet up, telling me it once was one piece also that there is another half still in the tranny, i just dont know where.
i know these being outside of the tranny cant be a good thing, i just dont know what they are. can anyone give me a little insite on what these(this) piece is and what its function is?
on a side note, the tranny does shift much better now. but sometimes hangs in gear(1st) longer than it should.
