Going up to a 3.8 lever from the stock 2.5 makes a BIG difference in the 1-2 shift firmness.(and the holding strength of the band)

i went ahead and ordered a Street Evil tranny...i liked the way the guy was explaining everything to me, he was very cooperative and didnt mind me asking all the questions i asked. these transmissions are remanufactured, not rebuilt, and come heavily modified from a stock rebuild...plus, because he knows i won't be doing too much more to my truck for a while, he went ahead and gave me another year's warranty, so all in all, i got the tranny with a 2 yr/ 24,000 mile warranty with shipping to my house for $1925. i'll keep everyone updated on how it goes when i get it. he said it will ship in 3 days.

Definitely keep us posted. Everyone I've come across in the DF always talk about getting a Dr. Evil tranny but end up not buying one because in the build sheet for the tranny, it says "...and other secrets Dr. Evil won't divulge". They end up getting a local shop to rebuild it or buy a PACT Viper tranny. I think you'll be the first to buy one around here. So it was $2000? is he gonna charge you a core fee? What's the total price tag? Do you need to have a shop to install it in order for the warranty to be valid?

i'm not sure if the price was including a core charge, here's the link to his policies: http://www.dreviltransmissions.com/policy.html the total price tag was $1925 including shipping. and no, i can install it myself and still have the warranty.
i actually asked him about the whole build sheet deal because i wanted one as well. he told me the same thing he tells everyone else, that he cant give me one because of "secrets". however, he will give me a dyno test sheet with all the pressures and everything on it. regardless, i think that if he truely wanted to keep something THAT secret, he would do something else to prevent it. i mean, if someone REALLY wanted to find out what was different, they would completely rip one apart and reverse engineer it. regardless, i'm not too worried about it. he seemed like a decent guy over the phone.
he also told me that the street evil series of tranny's get more attention than his normal trannys. he said that he's only got one guy on the floor that builds street evils, all his other guys build normal trannys. that kinda gave me a warm fuzzy inside lol. regardless, i hope everything turns out good and i'll keep everyone updated with pics hopefully.

Gerehead is right about the Low/Reverse servo too, fact is it goes all the way back to the 727/904 transmissions, so it's nothing new.
