The issue I'm having is when I drive in the city with speeds 25-35 the tranny won't shift right away into the next gear. It stales and the RPM's increase. This however doesn't happen on the interstate when I gun it. Fluid is perfect, filter has been checked.

No, there is no seal between the engine and the torque converter. However, there is a seal between the converter and the transmission pump, which can be damaged by pulling the engine with the converter still attached. The converter engages the input shaft and pump in the transmission, both of which could also be damaged by pulling the engine with the converter still bolted to the flex plate on the engine (depending on how much side force is applied by pulling the engine.)

Well after we finally got the truck going I now have a serious leak from that seal I assume. is there something else besides that seal I need to be looking at? One other thing is it has a good leak from the selector shaft seal. With the tranny out is that a big deal to replace? You are a good man for taking the time to help people like us out. Thanks. I guess I should add that its the 5.9 engine 4x4. anything special I need to know before I drop the tranny. Like should I drop the transfer case with it or leave it there. Sorry I am new to Dodge trucks. Thanks Neil
Pull it back out and replace the seal and the pump bushing. Your gonna need to pull the pump out. Just stand the trans up on its tailshaft housing, not pushing on the output shaft. yank the pump out after removing the pump cover bolts. Flip the pump over and take out the pump stator bolts. Knock out the old bushing and press in a new one. Then press in a new seal.

Ive actually seen quite a few front pumps leak after a motor was removed with the torque converter attached to the motor. Dont know why. But a new bushing and seal cured it.

Monte on a basically stock tranny. Had some stuff replaced in the past. How long will it hold up doing WOT runs?
Its hard to say. Very hard question to answer.

The tv cable is the cable that goes from the transmission to the throttle body.

Thanks MonteC. That sounds easy enough. I got the tranny out last night. I see in the manual it says "special tool" to remove bushing but I guess you can just drive it out like you said. Now to find that part # for the bushing. I have the seal on order. Thanks again.
