MonteC's Transmission Corner (For Info Only)
Thanks MonteC. That sounds easy enough. I got the tranny out last night. I see in the manual it says "special tool" to remove bushing but I guess you can just drive it out like you said. Now to find that part # for the bushing. I have the seal on order. Thanks again.
I found this on the TV Cable.

Will this work for a 2000 Dodge?

So which should I do?
1. More throttle opening = HIGHER line pressure and LATER, FIRMER shifts.
2. Less throttle opening = LOWER line pressure and EARLIER, SOFTER shifts.
3. WOT (Wide Open Throttle) = MAXIMUM line pressure and FIRM shifts at the engine redline.

I just picked up a 2000 Sport 2500 and the tranny seems like it has a shudder in it when the OD is active. The shudder is worse at low speeds 40-50 than it is at higher speeds. If the OD is off then the tranny seems to be fairly smooth. Any ideas on where to start looking?
In the mornings my 47re will not shift, when in drive or shifting it manually. All the posts I have read say it is the speed sensor, but there is a catch, When my trans warms up to about 125*, on my gauge, then it starts to shift normal. I don’t know if the others drove theirs long enough for that to happen, takes about 10min. I can change the speed sensor but if you have any other ideas please let me know.

Hello my fellow Transmission-eers. I found a website that appears to have a wealth of information. It is www.scribd.com and you can find a lot of pdf files of service manuals. I was able to locate and download in pdf format a transmission service manual for the 46rh 518 manual <--type that in and search for it on the scribd website. Once I found it, I had to join in order to download it, but it doesn't cost anything to join and I just skipped past the magazine subscription offer. The manual has detailed instructions with pictures on how to rebuild this transmission.
This is my first transmission I am rebuilding so I need all the information that I can get. I already spent several hours reading all 48 pages of this thread so I was able to become somewhat educated. A huge Thank You goes out to MonteC for taking the time to assist us Shade Tree Mechanics. Also, I want to thank everyone else on this thread for their questions and answers. It's nice to be a part of a community that helps one another.

Well after 2 wks. I got my truck back. After he tried everything non mechanically transmission related, he finally figured out that it was a bad valve body. I now have o/d, but the trans is shifting late, hard and feels like its falling into o/d. I figure I will try and adjust the t.v. cable and see what happens. I really don't want to take it back to him after the poor customer service I received.
