Load test the battery. It takes a LOT more power to crank over a V-8, than it does to run a headlamp.

Just as a test..... turn the key to the on position, and see where your voltmeter is sitting. Should be at LEAST 12 volts. What does it drop to when you turn on the headlights?

Is the starter making a clicking noise? I had the same problem as you and I first thought it was the battery but ended up being the starter. It's super easy to change the starter in these trucks. New ones run around $100 or so.

something drained your battery while it was not running for a week.
might be security, remote start, radio, etc
might be just a weak battery. try charging it up. it might/might not get over it.

one day the wife called from the grocery store and said the car wouldn't start. just clicked... i went up there and put jumper cables on it, no help. left the cables on for a long time and rev'ed the truck, no help. tapped on starter, no help. turned on headlights and had light, but the headlights died when hitting the starter. battery was about 4 years old, which should have been ok - but wasn't. it just decided to lay down and die. new battery fixed it.

Ill recheck the battery, its a new battery though. Only a year old, lights dont dim at all or anything when theyre turned on.

Battery reads at 12.4 (using sct tuner).

Cant hurt to throw it on the charger. Will post in the morning whats up.

you can get it tested at an autozone or advance. But then again, you need to get it there. Walking with a 40 lb weight is not too fun especially you are Air Force ROTC, can't you get a jet to fly you where you need to go :P

I knew some powerlifters. They were horrible on ruck marches. 20 miles carrying 45 lbs was too much for them. I know ROTC ruck marches. They were 4 miles at best.

Pilos don't need to march a while. They just need to know how to hide until the special forces extracts them.

BTW, what weight class? My good friend was national champ at the 125ish lb weight class. i think it was 126. But we said it was a fluke. Only one other guy qualified, so he beat one person for the crown.
