ok. im going to hand wash the block. spray it with brake clean. apply a light coat of wd-40 to the cylinders, then wipe them dry and apply the quickseat. i will also apply a light coat of wd-40 to the piston skirts.

this is per the total seal instructions. do the rings need lube?

are there any parts i shouldnt clean with brake cleaner?

Brake Cleaner should work on everything.

Wouldn't hurt to put a bit of oil into the cylinders before putting the slugs in.

well other than wd40 in the cylinders and then wiping them dry with a towel, total seal is adamant in saying that the quick seal powder should not be applied to a wet cylinder... goes against my better judgement, but many people swear by a dry assembly.

had to order a new torque wrench so now im waiting on that

just thought i'd say this for no particular reason: you could print this thread out and sell it as a book on how to build a mopar stroker.. that is a good thing..

the instructions for the rod bolt torque say to torque them to 50 ft/lbs 3 times if you do not have a stretch gauge. should i do this since theyve already been torqued before?

can i wash the block with cold water? how long do i have to get it dry before i start seeing rust?

I would do the three times step anyway. Better safe than sorry.

Use brake cleaner, or carb cleaner. Bare iron will start rusting immediately...... These two will evaporate quickly, and leave no residue. They also do not promote rust.
