Sonnax Sure Cure for the valve body.

I think some trans codes are just the PCM misinterpreting data is is receiving, when something else goes wrong. I got TCC codes when my engine was misfiring..... solved the misfire problem, reset the PCM, no more TCC codes.
ok so if i tell them aftermarket torque converter extra steels and clutches and what is sonnax?? i was also wondering would it help if maybe i got a aftermarket transmission cooler would that help prolong the life of the transmission?

If your truck doesn't have a factory-installed auxiliary cooler, yes it will. If it does, then you're in good shape as long as it's not restricted by sludge. Preventing that cooler sludge problem is another way a remote filter, installed in the pressure (from trans to radiator) line can save your hide.

Just so it's said: Keep the in-radiator cooler in the circuit. Any aux cooler you add goes downstream of it.

Sonnax Sure Cure is a shift kit. Sorta.... it fixes a few of the things dodge designed into the trans, that aren't really conducive to what you would consider "good shifting". Its available at wittrans. (bottom of the page, next to last one. 154 bucks.)

Cooler is always a good idea. Run it after the in-radiator cooler. External filter wouldn't hurt either. (ninjaed by Unreg. )

Keep your torque converter stall speed fairly low, under 2000 RPM. 1700-1900 I think would be good.

Same thing as a remote oil filter. Has a doohickey (technical term) that bolts somewhere under the hood, with a provision for a screw on style filter. (Just like the oil filter.) Plumb that in when you do the aux cooler, or, if you already have an aux cooler, do it when you remove the check valve in the trans line..... FAR better filtration than the one in the trans pan.

I got mine from PATC along with my transmission. Look about halfway down the page at http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm

You've certainly got one that's integral to the radiator. You might also have an auxiliary cooler -- take a look at the ATF lines that enter the radiator. If both lead directly back to the transmission you don't have an aux cooler. If instead one of them snakes around to the front of the radiator, and another returns from the front of the radiator to the transmission, you've got an auxiliary cooler already. They were factory installed along with towing packages and off-road editions.

Hey, we all live and learn. And this is a great place to learn stuff about dodge trucks...

My 2nd gen tranny made it to 120k miles (with every single one of those miles being well maintained... although well used). Once it started acting funny and the torque converter quite working and such, I thought (stupidly), "What the hell, I will put in this super sea foam stuff and watch the miracles begin". Almost instantly the tranny started working great again and continued to do so for quite some time (don't remember exactly how long). Then, for the first (and last) time ever, olyelr left me stranded on the side of the road... with a grenaded tranny.

My tranny guy told me putting "that garbage" in a tranny is the absolute worst thing you could do for one.

Hows your buddy's tranny doin
