ive got a 3"5" drop on the truck now tighter springs and lowering shocks. bushings is definitely next so ill let everyone how it feels after. ill post up some pics in the morning
P.S.. if anyone has done a complete bushings upgrade on there truck some insight would be cool.
Not on a truck yet.... but, a couple of cars.... Put in urethane bushings. Tightened things up rather nicely..... the non-greasable fellers tend to squeak though. There are also the graphite impregnated bushings, that are less prone to being noisey. On older cars, new bushings made a BIG difference. Not as 'squishy' as the stock rubber bushings. (which were worn out in any event...)
Want to REALLY make your steering better? If your truck is 2wd, convert to rack and pinion steering.
Id say a 4 front 6 rear lowering kit would be a great improvement. You could get a bigger wheel with a lower profile tire that should help also.
For optimum handling, unsprung weight is king. You want to minimize the weight of the tire and wheel (pretty much the opposite of what a lot of truck guys do). Broadly speaking smaller diameter rims weight less, but lightweight oversize rims do exist ... for a price. On the other hand, you don not want to adversely affect wheel strength on a truck, so choosing the very lightest wheel might not be the best option. You will have to compromise and juggle benefits.
However just paying attention to wheel/tire weight ... by only considering parts that specify them, and never going heavier than the stock aluminum rim/tire (which is what the suspension is designed to handle) is a good practice to follow.
Tire Rack almost always lists tire weights and if available, wheel weight.
