To back the load in somewhere. As on a trailer, boat, RV, Etc.

Some folks got long driveways.

Backing your trailer into a spot, or some such.

Haha ummmm ok. So the dual efans would be sufficient enough for use while towing?

I run twin 16" fans purchased off eBay for >$20 each.. One pushes, one pulls.. They are offset on my radiator, and I retained the factory shroud.

they are rated at 2750cfm (the puller) and 2400cfm (the pusher), as they don't push as much as they can pull due to simple geometry.. anyway:

I have about $100 in wiring, relays, fuses, and controllers.. I went fairly cheap on the fans themselves because I thought them (and still do to a lesser degree now though) to be the expendable part of the rig.. they are holding up more than fine though.

I didn't do my upgrade for performance purposes, I did it for one reason only: backing a #7000 boat up a long drive into the barn.. the only time i've come close to overheating on a healthy engine is doing something like this. It absolutely has the ***** to do what I need it to now, and the temp gauge doesn't budge. Add to that the nice little bonus of likely 20-30# of torque right off the line (right where you need it while towing) and this is one of my favorite mod's..

I kept my clutch fan in my tool box 'just in case'.. I've never needed it once..

Last week, in nearing 100* weather I was stuck in traffic.. I can recall this happening in the past.. i'd watch my gauge climb, and ultimately resort to turning on the heater full blast to attempt to dissipate heat better.. well, I sat there last week in traffic for about half an hour- foot off brake roll, jump to 15-25mph, stomp on brake pedal, sit- with my a/c kicking and a eagle eye on the gauge.. it didn't budge..

I pulled a trailer with a car on it a few weeks ago about 20 miles- once i reached operating temps (and where I have the controller set) it never budged.. A matter of fact, the fans are set to such a way that they kick on for about 5 seconds, and off for about 20 or so even in the worst conditions..

do the efan dude.. you'll appreciate it for certain.

So what you're telling me is a don't have to buy one of these expensive dual setup kits that run 4 and 5 hundred bucks? Although jegs does have one for about 210 minus any brackets and wiring rated for 2600 cfm each and there 12".

helz no.. I'd put my system up against the effectiveness of one of those any day, and i have about $150 in it.. I could have much less if I wasn't so **** about the wiring, soldering, shielding, relays, fuses and controllers.. I could have been out of it for about $70 or so..

There is something to be said for being ****, when it comes to your cooling system though..... Better to be over designed, than under designed.
