I just found these but they dont look to be complete with rocker and valves. I am sure this is a dumb question but bare in mind, I'm a rookie here.lol I thought they were complete to install. Is that normal? This is what I found but it also says Dakota http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-DAKOTA...56af7a45f#shId
those are just reman factory heads... you can get the exact same ones for 175 a piece on ebay... the aftermarket ones state they are stronger than factory...

man this is one expensive learning experience.lol I was looking at valves. rocker arms and push rods. they add up quickly. At this rate, it may be tirn down for awhile till I can get some cash back up. I may just get the heads I have checked and pray for a miracle. If i can get her to hold on a couple more years, then I can replace it with a rebuilt motor. none of the motor oil I have came across has any water in it so far. Im going to go ahead and drain the oil and see what it looks like as well. cross your fingers for me. boy I sure could use some luck. Been unemployed so I depend on any side work i do to make ends meet.

just get used or the cheap rebuilt factory heads with the hardware attached for 175... you only need to replace one head if thats all thats damaged... A lot of people here look at it like money isnt an object or as if its a performance vehicle... Its an old pickup truck... replacing only one damaged head with one used head to get a few more years out of it is perfectly acceptable.. now if you were restoring the truck or building a performance or rebuilt engine I could see wanting a new set...

About a 1/3 down the page on this link you will find that you might actually have great success running two different heads. It's the '68 buick.

He ran a 10.4. That sounds pretty successful to me...

I know this would be taking a risk but a guy on Craigslist has my heads. he bought them and said he found out that he still had two cylinders with low compression so he just replaced the engine. He paid $350 for them and said he would let them go for $200. He says he has all the paperwork on them. Here a link to them and a couple pictures of the heads. What you guys think?

If your not taking them I would.... I have a feeling I either have a bad head or bad cam lobe or lifter.... I have confirmed I have spark and fuel as well as good results on the leakdown test but I still have a misfire under load...I had a cracked header from the transmission shop and suspect a burned valve as a result although it doesn't explain the leak down results.

He left me a number to call him so I will today as well as go there and have a look at them. from the pictures, they look like as though they haven't been used other than maybe a compression check. I just wanted to see what you guys thought about it. I am taking my off now to have a look at them.

They are still stock heads.... but, if that's what the budget dictates, and they are in good condition, go for it.
