Patc hands down. i step on it stop light to stop light and have to put those fordsto shame constantly and it seems to not break a sweat or miss a beat. love those transmission set ups. Thier tourqe converters make the stockers look like a sissy.

My sentiments exactly. They're worth every penny of their high price. Those guys out in Bossier City have some kind of magic.

So i pulled the pan off last night, checked the filter, it looked to be a little crooked compared to everything else in the trans, BUT the fluid was very very glittery and dark, and the filter was PACKED with aluminum particles.

There was a few friends over at my friends shop working on a four wheeler when i got there, and they said it needed a rebuild, one of the guys owns a salvage and drives a dodge 2500. Anyways he called his guy that rebuilds his transmissions and said he would do mine for $850 with a 1 year warranty, Sooooo it looks like im pulling a tranny this weekend

Such fun..... Yeah, metal in the pan in visible amounts is just a bad sign. Good price on the rebuild though. Make sure to get a QUALITY torque converter to go with that rebuild.

Haha yeah, it would have made a nice metallic maroon paint, if it was paint.

Any particular one you have in mind? If i went with a stall converter, what would be good for about 75% highway/25% city? I dont fully understand how a stall converter works

Precision of New Hampton or something like that makes good TC. Also upgrade to Borg Governor Solenoid.

I will have to look into them, I was looking at some Hughes brand converters on summit racing, they were averaging about $450, i have no idea if that is expensive or not, but ill keep looking.

Thanks guys for all the help

haha nice. they're not cheap but oh so worth it. check out PATC. theyve got some dual disc set ups. maybe even put a shift kit and set it to stage one or two to help lengthen clutch and band life. here

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm

I went with a stage two set up and was fortunate to get a couple monthes out of my stocker before the coverter basically self grenaded so I could afford the set up. ask unreg, he knows the quality of em.
