My dad has been sick for the past year and has been in and out of the hospital. He and my mom just moved from the Kern Valley in CA up to Everett, WA a month ago because the doctors in CA thought that part of the reason he kept getting admitted to the hospital was due to the air quality. He passed away on 25 Oct 2013 at 1350 at 77 years old. He is in a better place and is pain free now and is able to visit with his parents again.
He is survived by his wife, 2 children & 4 grandchildren.

Well I thought it was time to dust this thread off again and get started. I just paid for my transmission so I should have it at my house in 4-5 weeks. So if the weather holds and keeps warming up I should be able to go start pulling the engine and transmission next week.

For a little more information here is the thread I started about which transmission to get and which one I ended up with. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ch-tranny.html

On a side note I did find out that there is only about 1/2" difference in length between a 46RE and 44RE 4WD transmission. So the information that was passed around a few weeks ago was incorrect about the 46RE being 4 1/2" being longer.

Ok it is not time for any tech just yet but I am here to update just a little.

I got an email today from my tranny builder Martin. It will be shipping on Monday and since it is only coming from California it shouldn't take too long. As soon as it gets here I'll let you all know. I've been lazy an don't have the old engine out yet but will be working on the Jeep this weekend.

Well my tranny came in Thursday at a buddy's business but he is closed on Friday and was gone yesterday. So I was able to finally able to pick up my tranny today.

So now I've got to get my garage in a workable condition. So first off here is the mess behind my Jeep.

Then on top of all that junk I just bought the parts to put fuel injection onto my wife's 1980 CJ5 with a 258 6 cylinder engine. You use a 4.0 head on the 4.2 engine.

So to make more room I ran it past the wife and we are moving the bikes outside until I get done with the engine swap. So I put our EZ up tent up tonight and tomorrow I'll be moving the motorcycles outside so I have the room to work. Of course I'll be covering both bikes while they are outside too.
