5.9 Rebuild on the cheap: Now Just Empty Every Pocket build.
So after I got done picking the kid up from the school bus I decided to actually work on the Jeep. Worked on getting the accessory drive bracket removed and dismounting the power steering pump. I needed to get it removed so I can send it in to be rebuilt. PSC said it is only a few day turn around on the rebuild.

After I got the accessory bracket off I pulled the water pump because this is a FlowKooler water pump I installed when I was trying to fight the overheating issues.
I know some folks don't feel that these things are worth extra money. I'll show you some comparison pictures and you can make up your own mind.

Look at the difference in the size of the blades plus having the plate over the blades helps it not have cavitation.
If you got any questions about stuff ask away. I am making headway on the Jeep finally Just don't expect this to be a done deal over night. I've got some other things I want to fix and modify while the engine is out.

Well I did not get a lot done today but I did finally get the tranny out of the rear of my truck.
So here sits $2,700 and of course the wife looked at me and said "For THAT?? I could of had so many shoes for that money it would have covered the garage" I laughed and said yep but just wait til you get to go wheeling in the Jeep again.

Make sure you check back I'll be taking pic's.

Jolly,
No after talking with the customer service guys from PATC I was less than impressed. I was to a point where I was really thinking about going back to manual when I found a tranny builder by the name of Martin Saine. Found a lot of good info about him on a few forums so I gave him a call and after talking with him I ordered my tranny. It is good to handle over 600HP (Not that I'll ever need that.) and has a custom valve body that he makes. PTAC wanted me to do a bunch of stuff that wasn't needed. He builds a 44RE that is good to 500HP but he felt with my large tires, low gearing plus a heavy rig that even though I'd never go over the 500HP mark I should go with the 46RE anyhow. He is in California and is a great guy from all the talks we have had. And I think his prices are very reasonable.

Moochoff,
The wheel base on the Jeep is still a stock 94". I didn't do any stretch on it but with the 38" tires it does make it seem like there is one.
Here's a larger shot of the Jeep.

Yesterday was my daughters birthday but she had a sleepover last night and a party today so I didn't get anything done. Tomorrow I hope I can get out in the garage and get a lot more done. Friday I got all the parts I need to send out boxed up ready to go. Monday I'll get the steering pump sent to PSC and my computer/controller for the air bags to Off-Road Only. Should have all that stuff back in a couple of weeks. __________________

So here is the computer/valve & controller for my air ride system. It is mounted under the brake booster on the ABS plate. My Jeep doesn't have ABS so that plate is a great place to mount it.

And here is the power steering pump. PSC will rebuild it for me.

Front of the engine looking pretty much stripped.

Drivers side of the engine compartment will stuff stripped so I could get to the ABS plate & the AirRock computer/valve.

As I have been told about a 100 times there isn't much room left under the hood of my Jeep. So getting the engine ready to be pulled takes a little more than normal.
