OK. I tried EasyOBD, SCANXL Pro, and PCMSCAN last night, One of them (I forgot which one) gave a message "Dongle cannot be found" meaning that they have a software key that is required. The others would not allow me to view Fuel Sync.....

Bummer....

Just talked to the folks at Palmer Performance (Creators of PCMSCAN) and their tech said it will not show fuel sync. Good thing I kept my appointment with the dealer.

I wonder if there IS a laptop based scan tool that WILL read it... that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for.

Nothing that I've found, PCMSAN, ScanXL, ScanXL Pro, OBDwiz, and all others like it won't. The only options are a Snap On MT2500, Snap On Solus, OTC Gynesis, or a DRB scan tool. I'm saving up for the Snap On MT2500. Just got to make sure I get the correct cartridge, personality key (13A), and the right cables. I'm looking at about $300-500. Until then the stealership is my only way to set it. Granted, all the software I have now does do lots of amazing things to include work in conjunction with the innovative wideband O² I just bought. So far I've only been out $65 for my OBDlink SX cable, my OBDlink Bluetooth dongle so I can use my smartphone to scan, run diagnostics, clear codes, and then all the software I have. I would say I have my money's worth.

I doubt if it will work...

Only things I've heard of that will are the Snap On MT 2500 with the correct cartiges and keys, the Modis something or other and the DRB.

Ma Mopar has had the JTEC PCM locked down so tight there was nothing out there until SCT felt sorry for us for tuning and from what I hear, the DIY SCT package is a total cluster &*^% to use.

Ditto for anything that can really SCAN the bowels of our stupid computers.

I may be willing to part with my Snap On MT 2500, give me a couple of days to figure out if it can even be updated to work on my Challenger. If it will work with the Challenger I'll keep it. If not, I'll let it go.

I've got the domestic cartridge to 2001 and definitely the 13A key because I had to buy that for my 2001. It's got the OBDI (with the power adaptor) and OBDII plug and the backlight even works. There's also a troubleshooter cartridge with it as well up through 2001, and 2 older domestic cartridges. Bunch of adaptors that do God-knows-what.

All in the black plastic molded carrying case with several manuals in it.
