Op did you say that someone had upgraded your front axle to a 60? You do count 8 lug nuts correct?

well sorry been awhile...life has been a rollercoaster. finally got the cover and driveshaft of and not looking good, pinion flopping all over, lots of debri, and and the gears are torn up including the spiders...looks like next step figuring out the gearing and finding a whole replacement rearend i guess....trying to get pictures posted

any help with what the markings or gearing is would be appreciated...one area i havent messed with much

Pics are tiny. can't really see much.....

Get a build sheet for your truck from chrysler. That will tell you what was in there stock.

Also, on the ring gear, should be a couple numbers etched into it somewhere. Like 41:10, (those ONLY if you have 4.10 gears though...) That corresponds to the number of teeth on the ring gear, and pinion gear, respectively. Divide big number by little number to get gear ratio.

cant add the pictures any larger to this thread. they are normal size in my albums. the rung gear has a "w-027" written on it in white...since the carrier is also messed up thinking maybe once i figure out the ratio I can just swap in a detroit locker or something carrier and all, it the nose of the rearend where the pinion bearing seats isnt messed up...

yea you need a carrier, master rebuild kit and ring/pinion set...wow that's alot of damage.

Be cheaper just to pick up another rear end..... swap out the whole thing.
