3.55 gears.

Balancer just looks old. If it makes you nervous, replace it, but, I don't think its an absolute requirement.

130 bucks for a water pump? Just go with stock replacement, they last 100K plus miles, flow more than enough for typical usage. Save the bucks and spend them on something useful. (take your wife/girlfriend out for dinner. )

So is a 9.25 rear good or bad? And I'm pretty sure the front said Dana when I was underneath. I eventually am going to 4.10 gears. Anyone do the tcc switch for manual torque converter lock? I was thinking about doing that and was curious about it

For a half-ton truck, it's fine. Front is a Dana 44. (which is also pretty good. )

Easy to change seals and do gear swap? It's got 33s and does a little off-road

Do the seals when you do the gears. Otherwise, it's a lot of repeated work. (yes, stupid design.)

If you haven't done gears before, I HIGHLY recommend you find someone to help you that has, or, just pay someone else to do it. (yeah, I know, expensive.....) That is a job you do NOT want to mess up. Then it gets even MORE expensive.......

Might also consider looking for a set of axles from an Off-Road Edition truck. They came with 4:10s. (axle swap is actually easier than a gear swap.....)

I would be extremely lucky if that happened. That's to easy. I have a brother in law who does mechanics and works at a place called 4 wheel parts now. I can have him help me one day
