Yes, the seal is the 1st thing you see when you pull the converter out of the transmission. Once you pull the seal, you should be able to see the bushing behind it. Let's get a good look at the converter hub that goes into the transmission.

No bolts need to come out to get the seal. Screwdriver usually does it for me.

Yup, screwdriver or a seal puller works in getting that seal out. Would be helpful to closely check the condition of the converter hub, as the new seal won't last long if the hub is in bad shape.

ah ok and how do you tap the new seal down usually use a socket but since shaft in the way...

and reason I asked as I was told there is a gasket that comes with the pump seal kit... where does that gasket go?

ill get a video tomorrow for sure
and if the bushing is runined then the shaft is ruined too? so that mean you need new bushing and shaft or converter?

Here is a photo of the pump seal kit - https://www.globaltransmissionparts....bCyxoC6mLw_wcB

Here is a kit that includes the bushing, if needed -

The shaft should be fine. It's the bushing that may not be. Check the converter hub closely - if its smooth throughout, you should be fine. If not, you may need to replace the bushing in the pump and clean up the converter hub with emery cloth to get it smooth again.

looking at those 2 links you sent.. isn't that the front seal no bushing there just that one kit comes with an extra gasket.. but they the same seal

and is it not worth replacing the bushing anyways and I don't even see the bushin on the coverter or the shaft

isn't it like a brass bushing probably 3 inchs long or something

least that what I used to as bushings

ah nevermind I seen there was a 2nd pic in the ebay link I still don't see that in the tranny I guess u need to pull out seal to see it...and I guessing gaskets are as its easier to take out the seal and use a socket to hammer it back in afterwards

Need to see a photo of the outside diameter of the converter hub, not inside. The seal rides on the outside diameter of the hub.
