ok but that still conflicts with the issue of no downshifting... if I try that it’ll stall as I keep slowing

Don't slow down. The idea here is to test TCC solenoid, and see if it is disengaging. Stepping on the brake, just enough to turn on the brake lights, *should* disengage TCC, and you should see a minor RPM jump.

Ok I’ll try that when I get the new parts in

ok so still won’t down shift... this is what I can see happens. I get into od and roll about 50 or so, I lightly tap the breaks and see no decrease in RPMs other than the obvious slowing down. Now I’m a little confused on how this things shifting. So as I said it won’t downshift, so in turn I manually downshift, so here’s how I start, I turn my OD off, I go from park to first gear, I then move to second gear(this shifts smooth as can be), I then shift into drive, now this is where it gets weird, AS SOON as I shift into drive it drops RPM about 200 then right after that it drops a larger amount around 5-800 or so, I then turn on OD and then it drops about 200-300. Something like that seems funny. Now, the gear shift from second to third is very large and is harsh, I feel like the tcc is definitely sticking.

Does the O/D off button actually do anything when you are at 50mph or so??

ok so I turn od off before starting. Once I get to 3rd gear I then hit the button again to turn od back on. It then shifts into od. But if I hit the button again to turn it off it won’t down shift. Now if I leave od off and keep going in just third it will not shift up into od unless I hit the button so believe that’s working.

If it doesn't drop out of O/D when you hit the button, something is definitely wrong. What that would be though, I have no idea. May be sticking solenoids, sticking valves in the valve body, or failed electronics....

well all my electronics worked fine until the trans messed up. So I still feel like it’s the valve body. Which is kind of suspicious now... because it shifts quick and doesn’t down shift... I could understand if a passage was clogged but the whole thing? Also now that I’m noticing it more, my trans has been leaking, and I can’t find out for the death of me why. When I get under there and look the only place it looks like it’s leaking is from the whole where the shift lever goes into the pan onto the valve body. But why the heck would that leak like that? I know for a fact all bolts are tight on valve body. What else might it be?

I think there are a couple o-rings in there, to seal around the shaft.

well I’ll definitely have to look at that.... I’m fixing to go buy another valve body off of a guy and replace o rings, and do complete fluid change, if that doesn’t fix this stupid thing I think I’m about ready to give up on her. I’ve put a lot of money in this thing lol
