well... all I know is,, the last time I did this... the parking lever ended up messing up my valve body by putting it on so I’m scared tbh

Can you pull the rod out, while you install the o/d unit? Then put it back later?

yea but that’s also a pia cause you gotta drop the entire valve body and all the fluid with it :/

I suspect a fair bit of the fluid is already out of it......

believe it or not it didn’t damage the actual internal of the od unit. It only broke the bolt holes the fluid level is good in trans

I wonder if something else is going on there, that we are missing....... T-case should not try and shift itself..... Wonder if the snap-ring has been missing for a while. No way to know now though. Or if there is something odd going on, further down the driveline.

ok so I’ll be fixing my truck tomorrow... got all parts.... but... I messed around with THREE other dodges today as well... and they all have that slight play in them... which I thought might fix my problem... but it doesn’t.... so what in gods green earth would cause this to happen? Tv cable was readjusted. It won’t downshift worth a damn. It upshiftd just wont down shift.. might be a dumb question but could it maybe be something simple like adjusting the bands???

Gotta be a sticking valve, or clogged port...... or some other mystery part that we are missing.
