club cab or crew cab or whatever its called. What all is done to yours? I've got a fair list of bolt ons, as well as a few ingenuitive tricks learned from old hotrodding gurus, and a one off custom tune as well. You guys don't have to bash me geez... and those times weren't mine those are from airram, those times are from a 4.7 Ram four door which is alot more for that motor to push than in our trucks. go check out their website. he knows how to make the 4.7 run like a scalded dog.

And Sully, mustangs really aren't all that fast. at least not the dime a dozen ones around here. but the redneck hicks from the local track think that a 4.6 gt automatic is a race car where i come from.

From your avatar, looks like you have a club cab.

Not bashing, I'm sure the add-ons make yours very fast. However, mine will not beat a stock 4.6 mustang....unless it's snowing.

4.7RedDragon, have you done any internal mods to the motor? What does a software "tune" give on a gasser? I know we can get damaging amounts of power from a diesel tuner, was wondering if its the same for the gas versions. Also, has anyone had the chance to put one of these newer 4.7's on a dyno? Just wondering what they put out.

I've got the 212x cams... thats it for internals, otherwise I have a ram air hood with the cai run to it, tb spacer, headers, no cats, true duals w/x pipe and flowmaster super40s. That tune is pretty potent, but sadly us gas burner guys don't get the same kick that you diesel guys enjoy. With the right tune though we can run pretty dang good. I know the canned tunes in the superchips supposedly give about 15hp give or take a few, and I'd estimate a full on pcm flash gave me about 25 maybe. Not near the ungodly amounts of power that a diesel can get from a tune. And some of the guys on here have dynoed their trucks. I had mine done once but it was by the incompetant folks at JMS chip and performance and the junk didn't read right. They ended up not charging me but it was still about 2 hours of my time wasted sitting there while they had computer malfunctions.

What engine did the old SS/T come with? I've seen them around but never really knew what they had... I'm guessing a 318 or a 360?

I know i am in the wrong section but i wanted to comment on your Diesel talk. Yes us guys with Diesels get great amount of power out of our programmers. But their is more to it then Programmers. Bigger turbo, injectors, intercooler, intake and trans upgrades is what really sets our trucks off. the programmers is just a bonus in my eyes.
But with my truck being stock. With a bully dog programmer on the box says I have a 120 hp upgrade yeah right.
I have beat a 2006 Dakota, 07 1500 hemi, and 2500 ram Diesel, 99 3500 ram Diesel, 08 F450 Diesel, 09 f150 diesel, A dodge neon and bmw 325i at the same time.
I have had my butt handed to me in a sling by a 02 T/A and ?? benz with that supercharged motor the $350,000 car. Both of those was at the same time. Moral of the story is that just because I have a programmer don't mean I'm the fastest kid on the Block. I need all the other items to be the fastest one around town.
4.7 and all you guys keep up the good work and Burn some Rubber.

Theres a guy who can keep it real haha... I'll admit I've been walked on by a diesel. I even have a 04 Ram 3500 that can, with just a tune and exhaust, put a good car length on my R/T til about 40 mph. Its sheer TORQUE that those things have! Its unreal!

I run a low 13, below is my best and worse time slips. I'm still on my stock torque converter, within the next month or so I will have my new 3000 stall and this spring I'm gunning for 12s.

My kill list is pretty big, since adding the supercharger and alky I've lost to three vehicles out of about 100 runs. I've ran viper trucks, lightnings, GTOs, Cobras just about anything willing to give it a shot.
