HHR Fan Installed
OK i bought the stant 13008 (5,2/5,9 engines)
and i compare it at the autopart to the one that is supposed to fit my truck(4,7 2006 dakota)...
they were alot different?? the stock one had a hole with a checkvalve on the side and the notch on the thermostat was useless because the gasket dont have the dent inside??? why the stock remplacement is SO different than the pic you shown me??

The stock replacement for our truck works just fine, will come with the notch, will come with the pressure relief hole with the ball in it, and just cost you an arm and a leg.
If you want to save money buy the 5.2/5.9 engine t-stat 54mm or 2.125", and grind the notch yourself. If you want the pressure relief hole, just drill one.

That hole with a check valve is known as a "jiggle valve", it there to prevent air from getting trapped in the system. Making a 1/8th" hole and installing the new thermostat with the hole "up" will be fine.
Might as well, it's going to start draining once you unbolt the thermostat housing. Since the hose is at the bottom of the radiator, your best bet is to just drain the radiator before you start.

Borg Warner PT299, Niehoff PS38051, or Standard Motor Products S568 are interchangeable.
You don't have to use those, I just wanted it to look factory. Good luck man.
