It seems that 2005 it was an option.

Sure way to know: Grey key = IMO, and a keyless key (that sounds wrong lol) = IMO.
My key is black and I don't have keyless entry (I don't even have power locks). I know there's no chip in my key because I can peel the rubber off of the metal key and I have made copies of the key before. What kind of IMO is it? Is it like GM's passkey, where there's no chip in the key because it is activated by resisters in the lock cylinder (or something like that)?

What does IMO mean? Immobilizer?

Here's a pic of my OEM key

Interesting.

The information I have found says that 2006+ all had the IMO, but it appears yours doesn't.

That's why I didn't buy the bypass module yet. I know there's no chip in the key but the vehicle specific wiring guide on Bulldog Security's website says that there is an Immobilizer (see link below). It says that it has "CHRYSLER'S MULTIPLEX IGNITION/ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM." Anybody know anything about that, like how it works? Is it like GM's passlock2 where it detects the lock cylinders position?

It's a transponder, which it seems you don't have.

Viper systems aren't difficult to program. They are some of the easiest, even without the hand held programmer.
