Hemi Swap 1yr Plan
no one said anything about the cheap floor-jack and propane bottle I'm using to prop up the front of the motor lol. it's too heavy for my "1000lb" stand... at least for me to be comfortable with it anyways.

Wow, this is awesome! Do you mind me asking what you paid for the 0-mile Hemi?
I think that's a good choice with going new on your part, as you never know what problems come along with an engine when you can't see/hear it run first (even with low miles).
Looking forward to seeing another Hemi-Dak! Good luck!

Yea, I am still a novice with a "barely adequate" toolbox and I figured if I buy new then I can go into it knowing it should all work instead of trying to pin down a problem when the motor is in the truck already and has performance parts installed.
Thanks!
Lucky for me, it's a hemi and not am LS engine, those chebie motors have SOO many options it's insane.
It's the standard 4.7.. I think if I had the HO, I would of built that up. No sense in wasting those forged parts.
Paid enough that I had to skimp on the engine stand lol. But apparently not enough, because I was told it would come with the wiring harness, but it didn't. I am going to see if I can get the seller to just buy me a used one.. I'm chopping it to bits anyways.

I know what you're saying. I keep telling myself I'm drawing the line at cam/hardware, exhaust and CAI... but that 6.1 intake and port/polish heads are really making me itch. Call that another $2500 just with those 2 mods lol... so that's why I drew a line.

ls engines dosent even touch the outer edge of the surface, ive got 10-15 g's in my chevy, no engine, no tranny yet, there is nothing on the truck that hasnt been done, including every single bolt from top to bottom is arp, stage 8, or grade 9 its insane.
as far as my next step, as you suggested, I'm going to get everything I think I'm going to need to get it done. Accessories are on the way, I need to find out about the wiring harness deal, wait for a paycheck or two to come in before I get my cam and hardware.. the actual tear-down I predict is still a month or two out. Out of the planning stage (sorta) and into the parts collecting stage basically.
For now it's still a 1 year plan, well 11 months. But if I could put a date on the first start-up I would say August.
For the hemi? So it doesn't have the main blocks at the end, but it has the connectors? (coils, egr, knock, temps, tps, ect?) That's exactly what I need.
