Default Lifting 3rd GEN dakota

I'm trying to see if there is any way to lift my truck, suspension wise to fit 35" tires. I've already put a 3" front and 2.5" rear leveling kit on and still isn't enough clearance and are up for suggestions. My brother In-law advised me to add a 3" body lift but not fond of the way it looks unless someone has pics of a 3" body lift.

Welcome to DF. Are you 4x4 or 4x2? I little searching would have shown you that anything more than 2.5" spacer will destroy your CV axles, ball joints and tie rods. The recommended list consists of 2.5" spacers, rear blocks and a 3" body lift. If you want more than that then you will have to go totally custom in the front. Here's one such thread. There are many more.

You can go 3" spacers on a 4x2, but you will still be putting extra stress on tie rods and ball joints, so early failure will occur. Not a matter of if, but when.

Personally, I don't think I would do it. Unless you change the gears in the rear end, it's going to be a dog. And if you're running 35" tires, it's probably time to think about brake upgrades, too.

Had planned on putting gears in the rear end but not sure what ratio. It has 3.55 and was wondering if it would be overkill going with 427

I would probably go with 4.56s. Mine has 4.11 gears and 35" tires, and I think it's a little undergeared.

Here's the thread on the 6" lift Tom is referring to.
