Welcome to DF! Plenty on here using 2" leveling kits. If your 4x4, it is not wise to go over 2.5". Plenty of threads with pics already exist on this subject.

I added 1.5" helper springs after the leveling kit because I wanted a little bit of the rake back. It really did not make a noticable difference in ride quality to me. Even with my leveling kit, I still had a little rub at fulll lock with 265/70-17 tires. Nothing major though.

So 3" is not a good idea? I have been out of the dodge scene for quite a while and I forgot what company had a 2.5 kit and it seemed like a good company. Ive seen 3 inch ones on ebay. Are those a bad idea? mines 4wd.

It is not recommended to put a 3" leveling kit on a 4x4. You will destroy your ball joints, tie rods and CV axles. Even 2.5" is pushing it. Some have done 3", but plan on replacing those parts. Frequently. Best bet for a 4x4 is 2" spacers, 1.5" helper springs and a 3" body lift. That's about as high as you can go in these trucks without dropping serious coin for redesigned front end parts (Jack My Ride kit) or SAS.

Why helper springs? why not blocks? Ill do 2.5 in the front then. I don't really want to do a body lift.

Blocks can lead to axle wrap. Leaf helpers will stop that from happening. Typically, one can go up to 3" blocks with out getting "too" much wrap, but I would limit to 2" blocks on our trucks for two reasons: 3" is too much lift to begin with a 2" leveling kit, and our stock shocks do not extend enough for 3" blocks.
