Default Lifetime Powertrain is BS

Ok so here is the readers digest version, I bought my truck brand new on August 26th 07, I am the origanl owner, I took the truck into the dealer and they advised me that I WAS NOT COVERED under the life time power train warranty, they said that I had to purchase the extended waranty. I told them that they were wrong and pulled up the lifetime warranty on my phone and showed them the PDF file from the dodge website. The dealer said well thats something that you will have to take up with dodge corp.

The PDF says the floowing:
<LI class=ecxques>Q1: How do I know if I’m covered by the new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?A1: You're covered if you're the first registered vehicle owner – retail or lease – in U.S., Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands. This applies to 2009 model year vehicles. As well as 2006, 2007 and 2008 model year vehicles purchased on or after July 26, 2007.

So i finally got a hold of dodge corperate and the lady tells me that i only have the 3/36 warranty, i explained to her again as i did to the dealer and she basicly told me that I was out of luck and there was nothing she could do..i demanded to talk to somebody who can make the change ..it been 2 weeks now and I have yet to hear back from them.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with the lifetime warranty....If so please contact me, I am considering filing a class action lawsuite sorry for the windy post!!

Sorry to hear that. When I bought my 07 on 7/7/2007 it did not come with the lifetime drive train warranty. I read on this forum or another that Dodge was offering the lifetime to those who purchased their trucks just before the lifetime warranty came out. HOWEVER you had to pay $750 with I believe a $50 or $100 deductable or $1000 for a $0 deductable, it was a limited offer. So I went back to my dealer and bought it. I've got the signed contract so if I need it and they give me crap I'll raise hell. Good luck

I had a dealer tech tell me that they are extremely picky in the warranty claims. IE, one missing oil record and they may not cover it. It was just a marketing ploy to get more ppl to buy.

Yeah, they will do all they can to get out from under it. I wont even bother to start to tell you my horror stories. But its not just Dodge, its all manufactures and dealerships. They are all crooks.

According to the Chrysler website, it only covers cars, not trucks.
