I was in the same situation with a regular aero 3030. I tried it with a resonator in front of it and was still to loud. Don't get me wrong the truck sounded great but for daily driving I wanted a little less. I changed over to a large Magnaflow, Part # 12589 and put a Vibrant resonator in front of that, where the oem front resonator was. Still has a nice roar when you stomp on it but quiets down nicely.

You could move the muffler further back if you have room. Where do your exh pipes end? Are they dumped or our the back under the bumper? Do you have a RC or a QC?

have a qc and it exits stock. the muffler is about as far back as i can get it. will a resonator work? or posibly a different muffler? the main reason i got the at was i heard there was no drone when towing and i believe there wont be. just loud

IMO any performance exhaust would drone when towing (under load), I really like my magnaflow, fairly quit between 500-1700 rpm but still has a rumble, over 1700 you start to hear it, 3000+ sounds like a mopar dragster lol and at WOT it screams

i hate to say it but i've had 3 different magnaflows on 3 different trucks and have yet to like any. not trying to bash magnaflow just haven't had good luck with thier products. i know they make a 24in body just haven't been able to find much about them from guys who have them

I have a 3030XL on my 2008. I had my exhaust guy move it just under the bed. I kept the rear resonator. Sounds perfect and no drone whatsoever.

The bigger the body the more the sound will be suppresed. An 18-20" is optimal for these trucks. Go any smaller and it gets aggressive quick. 16" oval would be a little quieter than the AT3030 and 14" would be really close if not as loud. You could add a resonator directly infront of the muffler for convenience. It would def. reduce the brash nature of the straight throughs.
I like the 18" oval bodied Magnaflow I have but I could step down to a 16" which is slightly more aggressive.

So i just ordered an AT3030 and gonna keep the stock resonator on..is that gonna be too loud you think? I got the same problem as jayjma..the g/f is a big fan of the stock quiet exhaust right now and i cant take it..it needs to have some noise to it. But hopefully it is a happy medium for both of us

If you keep the resonator, it should be fine. The 3030 will be louder than the XL. Make sure they position the muffler just under the bed. That will help.

If you could post up a video, after you get it done, that would be cool.
