You have to watch alot of the cheapies, the chrome on the insides will peel off and go into the engine. Make sure that the chrome is not on the inside. I have also heard of them rusting internally and flaking off as well. This is why the factory always uses plastic.
Check your tube after a long drive Greg about 15 minutes after shutting off the truck and see how hot it is. Heat soak is what will get ya. If you stop for a bit then leave again, the tubing will be much hotter, I would think.
Is that worded ok for ya Dog????

Had one on my truck, that exact item.
However, even though I made damn sure that all of my fittings were tight and secure, the filter somehow managed to work it's way loose, and fell off somewhere on a 700 mile road trip....
Had to find a replacement filter, ended up with this:
I then got a seperate oil breather filter, and plugged the breather hole on the intake b/c I didn't like the way it looked.
Later I ended up putting the stock intake back on with K&N filter, mainly b/c I saw no significant gain from the setup...

Yeah, that's why I recommend the Airiad MIT pipe and drop-in K&N filter. The HemiHat is the only real restriction in the system.
I only use the K&N because it last forever. I've had one in my Mustang for over 150K miles.
That kit looks like it puts the open filter close to the ground where it could get flooded in a big puddle and hydrolock the engine!!
The K&N kit advertised at AutoAnything claims a whopping 8hp increase on the 08 Hemi RAM. Not worth the $300 to me!

That exact thing happens to a lot of people with kits like this. Not exactly sure why but it is quite common.
