Passenger side headaches...

Ok, so about 2 years ago I installed HID projector fixtures. After a few months I started to have trouble, first one light would not come on then the other. After I found this thread I installed the 50w resistors and no more issues.

Now about 3 months ago my pass. side light stops working, I checked bulbs/ballast all checks out OK. Here is the weird thing.

I can turn on the head lights and they work fine, once I start the truck the pass side turns off and wont turn back on. If I let the circuit 'rest' for 3hrs or so I can turn on both head lights again.

I've also noticed that if I start the truck, then turn of the head lights they seem to work 85% of the time.

Any tips?

-Matt

Common for with key off/lights on that they will work but with key on/lights on they will not. Check your 50 watt load resistors and connections on the side.

Correct. Bi-Xenon = (4) 50 watt load resistors. 2 per side. One on low beam wire, the other on high beam wire

Default Hid turn on and off

Hey I have a 2007 dodge ram with aftermarket headlights in it. They are now a H3 for lowbeam n H1 for highbeam . I put a hid set in for my low beam only and they both keep going on and off. I got a new ballast with a higher resistance . It sovled the problem for a night. Now both keep going on and off. The driver side will stay on and the passenger side will keep going on and off then when I turn my light off then back on tge driver side will go on and off then both will go off and come back on then go on and off
what can I do to stop this.
and also my radio works fine but if I got my satellite radio on its all static.
And iam got a set of hids for my foglights but iam holding off till I get my low beams staying on

Any information would be great
thanks

shane

shane, welcome to the site.

Please go back and read the first page and purchase the correct accessories to go with your HID set to make them work correctly. Ballasts do not provide resistance. Load resistors provide resistance.

As for static problems. This is common and typically of cheap ballasts which do not shield their EMF/EFI and in turn broadcast it to where the vehicles antenna pick it up. You can try other grounds and you can also try relocating them
