Default license plate lights

Does anyone know bulb number? I want to put red ones in there is there a problem putting leds in them or just get red regular bulbs? Thanks

What year is your truck? If you go online to autozone or advance auto's website you can look up the bulb part #. I don't know if they have changed for some year models or not. On my 02 I know that those bulbs are not monitored by the "bulb out" CANBUS system so an LED probably would not need an extra resistor - not sure how it is with the TIPM systems.

As far as the red coloring goes... that may be an issue with local law enforcement depending on your area.

Your owners manual will tell you the bulb number. Lots of good info in those never looked at books.

I have an 05 and my truck didn't come with that helpfull book

I have white LED's in my 02 and they work fine, might be different on the newer trucks though..

They should be plug'n'play. Just remove your bulb and put the LED in. They are polarized though, so if you have them plugged in and they're not working, flip them around and try again.

i put white leds in my 04. The bulb number is 194. Check out superbrightleds.com
