K&N Air Intake For my 1500?

Uhh what? The Hemi hat is THE restrictive part of the stock air intake. It's the only thing you need to remove to get the gains. That and a better air filter of course

I found a used K&N FIPK on my local craigslist for cheap, so that is an option.
I'll tell you what, I've always thought that if it gained even .1 mpg, they'd do it at the factory if there wasn't a reason not to (cost, noise, longevity, etc.). Under heavy throttle, this thing is LOUD, so there is no way Dodge would want it to sound this way from the factory and appeal to everyone...in the case of air intake, they opted for quiet over best performance (the hemi hat).
That's the reason I was able to pick it up cheap on craigslist, the guys wife drove the truck and she hated how it sounded, I don't mind it.

The K-N 77 series on my truck has better throttle response than stock, sounds better, and pulls much harder on the high end, and possibly gained a minute amount of gas mileage. You will like one on your truck

Im trying to up load a pic ... I could see the air intake hose as a possible restriction..
