If you go with the 6.2L, then I won't hold the decision to jump ship against you.

Well, actually I'm going to go back to what I had before the Dodge - a GMC 2500 HD with the Duramax. I lost mine in an accident and at that time there weren't any available and GM shut it's plants down for awhile, so I decided to try the Dodge. After a couple of weeks I knew I chose wrong.

How'd you roll it? Can that be blamed on the GMC's poor handling? Ok, jk.

I've never been a huge fan of the Duramax, but I like the Allison tranny.

That's what happens when you hydroplane at 70 mph, cross 4 lanes, slam into the guard rail on the right side of the freeway (on the left side of the truck) so hard it sent me airborne, landing on my side of the roof and sliding down the freeway upside down for about 300 feet back into the lane I started in.

I'm lucky I walked away from that one - I'm just disappointed there wasn't more structural integrity in the A-pillar and windshield header. But it's the same in all trucks (even the 2 ton models, GM, Ford, and Dodge).

Yeah... it's a hell of a lot of weight when you flip a truck.

I hydroplaned at 75 once on the hwy, but I was in an Infiniti G35 coupe. Slid up a mud embankment after sliding 500+ yards on the hwy backwards. It sucked.

Hate to see that. My sis is big into auto safety. She hated me buying a truck for just the reason we see. Many people are not so lucky.
She has sent me plenty of pictures involving death and parapalegic endings. She is a PHD of biomechanical engineering among other doctorates...expert witness...recreates accidents. Offers a fix.
Sad part is there is an easy fix of adding a dense foam to the pillars.
Truck cab holds up in a roll over with the foam injected. She is after me to get that done to mine. Probably will to make her happy.
Anyhow.
Tyhis 2009 Dodge Ram quad Spoart truck is on its second seat cover now. Its a sport but has more stuff than my Laramie..including the cooled and heated seats.
Here is a picture I took today at 6026 miles. Its worse than the picture shows.
I asked Dodge to replace it before I go to 3 Christmas get togethers in 3 states. No one in my family or my friends will buy this truck based on my seats.
More fun to give me grief.

How much does this "foam injection" cost?

My sis sent me this info.

"From the roof crush profile, this looks like a driver side leading roll and the driver was also likely pushed inboard, toward the passenger seat by the roof crush. If it had come straight down, the driver would have been paralyzed or killed!
Send folks to the website for SAFE Laboratories (www.saferesearch.com) who are the engineers who retrofit existing trucks and SUVs to reinforce the roofs. They say it can be done for <$250 "

She is trying to get the auto industry to make dense foam injection a production standard in trucks and SUV's.
Not much cost when the metal is unfinshed. Injected foam is cheap.
I suspect that above price is just the injection. I have not called. California is a bit far from Forida. Have to figure plugging holes and refinish then transport.

To protect yourself and your loved ones there is no price tag. I wil put this in an open forum after I gather a little more info.

Here is a read of its application and effectiveness. probably more..I just googled this up.

Chrysler and the dealship are ignoring my seat wear issue again.
Time to take action again.
