This is why I stayed with the stock sport interior. Previous F150 Lariat and FX4 luxury leather seats were cracked and just looked real bad after 10k miles of use since I tend to 'slide' off the seat when getting out. And they were freezing cold when you got in them, then the heated seat would toast your a$$. Sorry you guys have to deal with this..

Just reported my drivers seat at 14k, the service manager said he hasn't seen any 4th generations in his shop as of yet with this issue, informed him of the problems reported here and no fix when replaced, he said he would send it to the ulphostry shop they use to have the seat taken apart and diagnose the reason for the failure, which he believes to be the foam, also said without fixing the cause would allow the replacement cover to fail again. I definately have a feeling they have encountered this before, but at least it will go to an ulphosterer for a fix instead of the monkey wrench in the shop, will take it back in Jan. just there to have tires balanced and rotated today, will report on result when I have it done in the new year.

Well, in the Dodges you don't need to worry about toasting your *** since these seats never get that hot, maybe lukewarm.

That's b/c instead of a thin wire, like an electric blanket, or the older style heated seats like on my '07, the seats on the '09 just blow warm air. The back seats on the '09, which still use the older style wire setup, will toast your ***.

Its wierd everyone says the Chevy gets better mileage but my Tundra gets just as good or better than 2 of my fellow workers who bought 08 chevy's. In the dodge the bad roads is still pretty smooth and the driving of this vehicle changing lanes is like a sports car. Its like driving a car but you get your truck. The only thing is quality.
Quality? Have a look at how many awards this crappy truck is getting. They go buy yourself another Tundra and support the foreign countries. Way to go.

click the file a complain link.
This is probably the best to get the word out

Then; on line I just started writing anybody and eveybody that has to do with the auto industry or any product complaint in general.

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/php/a_report.php

I had ordered another truck while mine was in the shop..I am in constuction... Put money down for delivery, cancled that order this morning because of the seat.
Told the salesman why and he said he had never heard of it. Bull.
This cost Dodge $32,000 this moring. It would behoove Chrysler to make me happy.

Took it to the local Dodge dealer and made them fix it.

I took a good picture, wote a letter and sent it registed to CNN.

My sister is an attorney. Specialty auto safety...this is not safety but she knows people.

Persistance worked for me in the past...a dangerous Ford truck problem. Ford tried to blow me off. Made me angry so I put the issue on the local news. Recall by Ford the next day.
That was a explosion possibilty problem. Fuel system engineering goof.
Best of all Ford knew it and had already figured a few deaths would be cheaper than the fix.

This Dodge is cosmetic and value depreciating. Annoying but not deadly.
I hope Chrysler steps up. They have been notified about the seat several times.. by my complaints. E-mail and phone.
They get enough complaints from other owners they will have to answer.
Dealers look at this forum. My local dealers service manger is very aware and I told him he could go to bat and get it fixed or replace the seat every month until its fixed or warranty runs out...or Chrysler goes under. I have the 7/60 warranty.

Probabaly will not take it to the local news station for this....then again I might.

Blue
I can't see a full recall for that but I can see a TSB if customer complains fix it, but most wont even notice it, I thought leather is supposed to get wrinkles and wear marks gives it character? My Durango seats looked cheap till they wore a bit and got the wrinkles.

Can you get a leather seat cover without perforations or do you have to have the perfs for something?

I can't get a decent picture. same wavey and more wrinkles.

Anyhow, here is the links to complain again....these are the ones who make a recall happen.
I just got an email for a recall on some 2009 dodge....link does not work. Its a clutch issue so its not a Ram thing.

About to go get my truck for the 4th time. PT Cruiser in my garage next to my GTO, makes me sick.
I am sick of this and these crap rental cars.
Fixed two other things and new seat cover ordered yesterday...another rental next week.
513 miles on my truck.

I hate to fight this by myslef but I WILL keep writing for all of us.
Hire an attorney pretty soon. Put it on CNN.
Good luck with CNN, I am not sure they will take on a case of wrinkled leather on RAM seats. Leather is supposed to do that, it's part of its character, it will stretch and stuff but I bet it won't tear before vinyl or cloth!

Okay I have been responding to messages without reading the whole thing and now I realize that the seat are crap. Okay but the rest of the truck is good. Deal with the problem use, your lemon law. Then get one with cloth and vinyl seats. We have 7000 kms I am paraplegic and slide hard onto the seat and well they look like new still. Maybe sometimes the cheap stuff is better. Heated seats are dangerous, google heated seat fires and problems, trust me I know first hand the heated seats can burn you, especially when they are on high an defective. All the car companies have issues, I read about a Volkswagen where the guys coat caught fire from the seat, and there was a guy suing Chrysler for 6 million for burns suffered from the seat. I think personally that is why they went to that type of seat and well another oops. I think heated seats should be outlawed as dangerous. Check this out and see the caliber of cars having problems http://www.coloradolaw.net/consumer-...seats-car.html
and how about this http://www.jclslaw.com/CM/LP/Car-Sea...urn-Injury.asp

!!!!! IM NOT IMPRESSED!!!!

I was taking the don't worry about it approach to this problem but @ 23,000 my seat has CRACKED!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like a tear at first glance but you can see where a fold in the wear area has connected the dots in the perforation in two places (one happens to be over an inch long)

Going back to Dodge and I better not get any static...Im choked

Plus the heated seat kinda sucks especially at the "small" of your back (and yes the rear seat roasts your ***)

I love Dodge and always have but this is BULL$%&.

If they replace it with the same GARBAGE Im putting Katzskins on end of story I dont care about money here I paid enough for this truck and Im going to have roast your *** heating and good seats so help me!!!!!
