Complaints about your 4th gen?
After hitting 5,000 miles yeterday my biggest complaint is the paint, just a bad hood spray thats pretty blotchy. I'm sure the dealer would repaint it but I prefer to keep the original paint. Not the first car or truck I have with metallic silver or gray paint that had the blotchy look but its pretty severe on the hood.
That and the plastic dash squeaks and creaks, really a shame since its such a nice looking dash and the noise kinda cheapens it a bit.
Other then that I can say I'm pretty happy with it overall, gas mileage isnt as bad as expected and its a great highway cruiser. No regrets buying it yet, I'll post again after 10K miles and see if I still feel the same

I've logged in almost 8,000 miles in 9 months, very happy(I know I should'nt have said it) just got back from a 650 mile trip each way, averaged 18 MPG(both calc/EVIC) rode like a sedan. I was surprised how many people looked at my truck driving through Ft Bliss,Tx. I see a lot of crews/quads Rams, not too many single cabs with a Hemi and 20'' though.............................Kevin.
Just curious... What exhaust did you go to? Interior drone? I think I wanna change the muffler on my 09 Sport, trying to decide between a nice stainless Flowmaster or a Mufflex Magnaflow....
Oh oh that truck is garbage now, they won't give you a warranty even. I will give you 10 grand and take it off your hands LOL
I have a pair of cherry bombs that are flow thru and loud on my chevy, they are just under the cab at the back of it and then turn downs and I don't have and drone inmy cab. Why would the dodge, the muffler is under the box and its not even loud really, if I wanted to throw away 300 bucks I would put on a mufflex 14 inch but the duals are sounding nicer and getting a bit louder as it wears in. For some reason sounds much louder when I drive it than when my wife does, go figure.

Silver is hard not to get mottling in the paint. Its just the metallic clumping up. Funny since they are painted by robots you would think that would not happen. When I went to look at my truck and pick up my uncles with him we were looking at all the RAMS all clean parked and ready for delivery different days that week. They all had some type of paint defect. Including mine, just a few spots on the doors, looked like someone wet sanding some fish eyes and mine is Brilliant Black. I was afraid it would not buff out so Ipointed it out on pick up so they knew, They said bring it in any time for a repair. Now if they could not manage to remember to buff the spots after they sand them doesn't really give me any confidence in what their paint work might be. They don't even have a paint shop. Anyway, took a clay bar to it, the whole door, then I just used turtle was ice polish on a mothers small power ball and the spots all but disappeared. So I did the rest of the door with the polish with the big ball and then waxed it with I forget the brand of wax but Crystal is in the name. Door looks great and the 3 spots are gone. I thought they would come back you know how swirl marks go away when you wax the car but are back after 3 washes. I have the paint sealant done on it..a year late but who cares worked good looks good.
On the flipside my wife's 2010 Jeep Commander is black metallic, not sure what they call it, is one of nicest factory black paint jobs I have seen. Not a flaw in it anywhere and a really nice color, not sure if the both came out of the same paint booth or not but its night and day between the two.
The paint doesnt sour me on the truck, I'm kind of used to it by now. I can think of about 20 other things I could be picky about but overall I like it. Since I use these as trucks the paint flaws wont matter in a couple years anyhow so I wont stress over it too much, a gravel truck on the highway already christened the front edge of the hood with a nice big rock ding..
This is my 4th new Dodge in a row and by far the worst paint job out of all of them. The 09 has a bunch of dirt in the paint and the hood has a splatter look to it, like they were running out of paint or had a clogged nozzle. The 05 Ram I traded was pretty much perfect, so were the other 2 older vehicles. Not sure what happened between then and now but the paint quality sure went to the crapper.
What are the build dates for those with paint issues? I haven't noticed anything wrong with mine and it was a 10/08 build. Then again, I've only washed it about twice in the year I've had it....
