This whole ordeal is incredibly frustrating. I'm ready to F'N SNAP. All I want to do is drive my F'N truck, and enjoy it. My wife and I are going to MEXICO on Friday, and I want something resolved before then!

I use 4H almost every day, and I follow the shifting procedure in the manual, AND as described on the DVD video that came with my truck, and it grinds and clunks EVERY F'N TIME! And now a Oxford Dodge, and Chrysler Canada tell me that I have a "special" transfer case where you need to "rock the vehicle back and forth in reverse" in order to shift into 4H. WHAT? THE? F? Are you kidding me?

I've already started preparing my court case if it goes there. Here's what we've done:

- I've got a statement from a licensed mechanic at a local Off-Road store, who deals with RAM's, and the BW 44-45 frequently. The statement explains the proper shifting procedure, and the fact that you DO NOT have to "rock the truck back and forth" to shift into 4H.
- I have also contacted Borg Warner technical group, and they are sending me technical specs on the transfer case, and a statement saying the procedure in the manual is correct, and rocking the truck back and forth isn't necessary. I believe they are also contacting the dealership to fill them in, and train them on how this transfer case works, so they don't screw around with other customers.
- I have also called EVERY dealership in my area, and surrounding area, and asked Sales, and Service the proper way to shift into 4H. Every single one said what's in the manaul, and says you "DO NOT HAVE TO ROCK TRUCK BACK AND FORTH". Most of them laughed, and said maybe if it's a 1980's RAM, but not a new one. I even have written statements from some of them.
- I have video'd a 2013 RAM with the exact same transfer case, to show that you do not have to "rock the truck back and forth to shift into 4H". This 2013 shifts like butter! Just like my RAM used to do before January.
- I have all the Work Orders from Oxford Dodge, showing that I was willing to allow them to repair it (a requirement), but they chose not to (maybe).
- I have emails, recorded conversations, manuscripts of conversations, of the HELL I've been through in the last 6 months.
- If this truck doesn't get fixed this week, we have successfully proven that this dealership, with the aid of Chrysler Canada, is unable to provide a viable solution to an obvious problem / defect
- If this transfer case doesn't get replaced, because of the premature wear, which is covered by warranty, they are in breach of our warranty contract.

So.. we'll see what happens. To be honest, I'd rather them just repair the F'N thing, so I can enjoy it, and drive it! I'm confident that once this 4H problem is fixed, this truck will be flawless. But If it comes down to court, we'll be ready, and fueled, and we WILL win!

Drain the fluid, let it lock up, then put the fluid back in.

I know of a couple people with a ford AND a chevy that did that... they both got their trucks fixed for free.
But today, they both now own hemi trucks...lol

Still waiting. I might know more tomorrow. I just want to drive my truck!

Hell, replace the transfer case so there's no damage ,and I'll shift it any way they want me to, just so I can drive a truck that's not half damaged. I don't care about the grinding anymore, I'll just shift it while its moving. I'm just concerned with the current transfer case and the damage that the dealer found.
