I would feel so sorry for the NEW owner of this lemon if traded in.
Ya knowww, 5 gallons of gas and a match would solve the problem for everyone.

Still under warranty. Lots of warranty. Get it fixed. Things are a lot better then yesteryear. Don't make the mistake of all the effort of getting it right and trading it in. Next person has no issues cause you got them taken care of. I've seen that a lot. I bought vehicles for great deals and had no issues after previous owner 'fixed' them. Warranty or them paying out of pocket. All these engines IF you listen on cold run make noise. Now if the dealer or manufacture want to make you a GREAT deal on trade thats different. But I wouldn't go through what you are to trade and lose my butt.

Ya, I plan on getting the grinding fixed, and the knocking. Just waiting for dealership to create an appointment.

Also note, that my engine makes this knocking noise AFTER it's been warmed up, and not on cold start. The only reason the cold start ever came up, was because it used to do it on cold start only, now it does it 100% of the time.

That sound shouldn't be prominent during any duration. That clearly needs to be addressed, at least this time push a new short block. Having your vehicle for over a months time (on and off) hopefully they take a more directive action. I've placed my two cents here already, some agree, some don't, whatever, it just seems they've cut too many corners during the first attempt.

It's all about saving money to them.

Actually the way I remember it was ENGINEERS could care about moneys either way. It was the OTHERS that money was on their mind.

If you're implying "careless" about money either way, you my friend are 100% correct! Its literally a daily struggle to try and make sense of most of their improvised IR/TR ISO procedures.

Now that I've likely irritated any engineers here, I'll stop while I'm ahead...

So it's been 1 full week since I called Chrysler Canada, and the dealership. I also sent an email to the service manager at the dealership.

Haven't received a call back yet. That doesn't mean they are not looking into the issue in the background, but you'd think there would be some sort of priority placed on this, or a courtesy call saying they are investigating. I mean, I do have a brand new truck that knocks, and won't go into 4WD.

I'm trying to be patient here, and let them resolve this, but feel I'm being taken advantage of. I think I should let them deal with my wife, then they'll be sorry!
