I will not defend chrysler or any member or members. I am here to share information to the members on this forum. If some anyone has a problem with the information that i am posting, send me a pm. And i'll try to help. I also need to know before you send me a pm, 1 are you having problems with the pinion nut or 2 Do you just want the dealer to do the recall without the parts yet. Because there is another recall for the jeeps for the ORC module and the owners are getting letters to let them know. Once the parts are made and the dealer gets the parts. The owners can bring their vehicles in for the repairs.

SAFETY RECALL N08 / NHTSA 13V-038
REAR AXLE PINION NUT
Dear: (Name)
This interim notification letter is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in some 2009 model year Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango vehicles; and 2009 through 2012 model year Dodge Dakota and Ram 1500 series trucks equipped with a 9.25” rear axle.
The problem is...
The rear axle pinion nut on your truck (VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) may have been built without an adhesive patch on the pinion nut threads. The lack of this adhesive patch could allow the rear axle pinion nut to loosen and/or the rear driveshaft to separate from the rear axle. A loose pinion nut could cause the rear axle to seize and a separated driveshaft could cause a loss of motive power. Either situation could cause a crash without warning.
What Chrysler is doing...
Chrysler intends to repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). The parts required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition are currently not available. Chrysler will contact you again by mail, with a follow-up recall notice, when the remedy parts are available.
What you must do to ensure your safety...
Once you receive your follow-up recall notice in the mail, simply contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer right away to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before your appointment.
If you need help...
If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Chrysler Group Recall Assistance Center at 1-800-853-1403.
Please help us update our records by filling out the attached prepaid postcard if any of the conditions listed on the card apply to you or your vehicle. You may also update this information on the web at www.chrysler.com/ownersreg or www.dodge.com/ownersreg.
If you have already experienced this condition and have paid to have it repaired, please send your original receipts and/or other adequate proof of payment to the following address for reimbursement: Chrysler Customer Assistance, P.O. Box 21-8007, Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8007, Attention: Reimbursement. Once we receive and verify the required documents, reimbursement will be sent to you within 60 days.
If your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge and within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Ave., S.E., Washington, DC 20590, or call the toll-free Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov.
We're sorry for any inconvenience, but we are sincerely concerned about your safety. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Oh sure thing Randy, whatever you say, i just sit here and dream up **** just to **** people off. Ya know dude, i DONT really care what you believe or even think at this point anymore, you obviously have NO idea what i`ve been thru with these dealerships. Apparently you think i lie about it. If you dont like what i have to say, then DONT read anything i write. What gets me, is a person can only express positives in here and never any negatives. Without seeing and listening to both sides of a story or an issue that a person has, OR what they`ve gone thru, how do you expect anyone to learn about anything if people like you try to keep it all one sided. Somebody has a rant, they get jumped on just because someone might have said something someone didnt like...? (like bashing inferior dealerships) And then all you have to come up with is to tell someone they lie and make up rants...??? Sorry buddy, its not always perfect for everyone. Everyone should KNOW where the bad dealers are, as well as their experiences...! Would YOU take your vehicle to a known bad dealership..??.. i highly doubt it. Some of us dont have that option when all the surrounding dealers are just horrible. Look dude, most times i rant for dam GOOD reasons, but apparently your feelings get in your way. So from now on, if i bother you, go somewhere else and read something different. And what about all the others in this very thread that have just as bad of rants as i do with dealerships, but you dont jump all over them about it. Must be i struck a nerve "with the truth" behind what i`ve said in my rants, otherwise you wouldnt be so flamed about it. Oh well dude, you REALLY should learn to take the good WITH the bad and stop insulting people in here, you`ll be the wiser of yourself. The rest of us will get back on the topic.

Have a nice day...!

Maybe it scared enough people to stop them from driving their trucks until they get them fixed..? I`m betting ther are still a bunch of them out there still failing (AND going bad). We dont hear of the other ones that fail if they arent on any forums to report it. It WOULD be interesting to know the grand total of how many are going bad or have failed vs the ones that have not.

I have not stopped driving my Ram. I did have the rear end rebuilt at 32K., (rear end whine. (Bearings, pinion, BRG Kit differential side, spacer drive pinion bearing, seal drive pinion, gearl kit ring and pinion, lubricant axel, bearin drive pinion, brg kit drive pinion, lubrican axle, sealer.

The dealer that did the repair under warrenty was great. In fact the two different Ram dealerships that I have used have provided excellent service.

That said, like others I am waiting to be notified when the parts are available. Till then I will conintue to use my Ram as my everyday vehicle. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved in the next few months. I am not letting this recall change my use of the vehicle.

Stop beating the dead horse. We get that you're butt-hurt about your dealership...about 500 times already. Why don't YOU get back on topic....any other topic. In the meantime try and stop throwing your frivolous accusations around. I'm all about someone getting their frustrations about their dealer off their chest.... and then moving on to the task at hand. If someone comes here looking for help, they need solutions and logical advice. They don't need to know how much you believe that their dealer will screw them before they even walk in the door. I'm the moderator in here and if my section keeps getting peppered...let me rephrase that...SPACKLED with pointless rantings that have no relevance to the thread they're in, you can believe that I will continue to step in.

Have a wonderful, superlative, fantastic day!

Like most people on here I'm here for the information. Not everybody gets the info at the same time. Someone may have theirs repaired already or may have received the notice that parts are at theirs dealerships. I fortunately don't have any leaking of such or signs of it going out on me. I did call to get an oil change and tranny service done and asked my dealer about the recall. At the time they didn't have much information for me than what I already knew and that they would be checking on it. They said when I come in for my service they may have more info for me and ask again then. To me, that is decent enough service for me. I'd rather not have them make-up a story to make me happy.

I'll let you know after Saturday if there are any new developments.

As far as i know, the parts have not been release yet. But will check in with our parts department and see if there is an ETA.
