*Gasps* dont use FRAM! LOL You might as well be using quaker state or motomaster filters[&:] I cant dig up the link right now, but a ways back a guy did a huuuuge test on all the major oil filters around, and found that alot..like FRAMs, quaker etc, had crappy carboard flow valves and tended to let massive quantities of untreated oil back into your beautiful engine. I'll try to find it again unless somone else has it on hand?

Just go to the "google" search engine and type in "oil filter tests"...several different tests will show up, some are VERY interesting.......[sm=smiley16.gif]

I'd like to know what others are using as well. I would echo what RuckstaR says, on a motorcycle forum awhile back the same issue came up and that oil filter test was mentioned. I can't remember or find the link, but at the time I check it out and was quite suprised at the results. I used to use Fram, now I would just throw them away if you gave them to me for free. Just my .02's

I use the MoPar filters. Got them on ebay for less than half what I could get them for locally.

I use Fram Tough Gaurd filters.
Were any tests done on this one?
I change it about every three months/3000miles.
I've been using Fram for years and never had any oil problems.
The way the filter is mounted on a 318, I dont think old oil could spill back into the motor anyway.
How could Fram survive for so long if they made crappy filters?
Remeber they started out in the 50's making air filters for Army helicopters.
