We can't be out of gas already. Anyway I'm waiting on the brown truck. Should have my AI today. Better since I already have the molding removed. Shouldn't take long to install. I go to the body shop tomorrow for some paint work. So I'll be off line for a couple of days while out of town. I'll post pictures when I return. 03's rule!

Finally received my e-fan from Moes, They must be getting hard to Find as it took 20 days to Ship and 10 days to pass through mail system and customs. Total cost $326.00 CAD to my door. Anyhow will see what this mod does for my current high elevation 0-60 run of 7.97.

Hope I have time to install this weekend and will post any improvement on the Data Logging Thread but I had already promised my Senior-Tech from work that I would install his 13 pieces of new chrome and Stainless goodies on his 2nd Gen Ram as the dealer wanted a fortune to do it and a 6 pack of Busch for me is only $7.39 ea.

Ahh, a man that works for international currency.. Go ahead and help your buddy the efan doesn't take long to install. But that damn clutch fan is a pain to get off. I stuck a 1/4" bolt in the pully hole and braced it with a bar and turned the pig off. Good luck....

Thanks for the tip should be able to snap her off OK (can't be any worse than the rear Diff pinion nut as I needed to litterally strap myself to the truck for leverage on that one). I will probably need to keep my shroud as it is holding the two AF bottles.
Got two versions of install instructions to compare with and I am good freinds with Wild-e-coyote.

I kept my shroud also. I did mine without ever seeing another installed. It was easy. I set the switch at 200 degrees. It only comes on when I have been sitting in traffic for a while and then it cools the engine right down and shuts off.

Default Sc3865

Well, I was reading the SuperChip thread and we are difinitely forgotten! Maybe someone knows the answer here as it is 03 specific. When I plug in my SC3865 to the SC website it gets whatever upgrade that seems to be available. The tuner is VIN locked to my 03 truck so it knows what vehicle it is being used on. Does any of these upgrade benefit my 03 or as I suspect just taking up space on my tuner. In another words, is there anything new coming from SC that has an effect on the 03 performance?

Think I'll switch over to another tuner in preparation for a cam change.

OK, Probably right but I thought it would not be a bad idea recently to just update via internet anyhow... Now as for 03 specific here is a thought... last year when my 03 specific 3714 jammed (Vin Locked) during a retune, I contacted SC and in the end upgraded to the 3865. SC suggested just to be safe that I get the PCM reflashed to make sure prior to reloading with the new stuff. So while at the dealer the Old School Mechanic mentioned he had to do a full reflash/reprogram (whatever that meant) for reason that my PCM did not have the newest Dodge update for the 03 as he specified since 03 came out they did some improvements that include a slight tranny adjustment as well. So perhaps when you change to a different tuner you may want to spend the 50 bucks to have that done. Now I did not notice any difference afterwards.

Now after chatting with AF I was considering changing to the DSP but need to confirm if I can just go to a Predator dealer/adjuster and get them to do a custom tune after running and reading my engine. If this is possible then I might do it, if not I will wait until my next cam job and purchase both the DSP and the required equipement to get the data neccessary to send to one of the USA tuner guys via internet (AF explained this to me in detail already).

So to end this long winded post, I am still uncertain as to get the DSP at this point as I don't know if it will be better than the 3865 just straight plugged in with my current mods.

Also I think Old Dirty John said he would be willing to trade his DSP for an SC on one of his comments (can't remember where) Was thinking about PM him but my question to that would be how does he get the SC continued support and vice versa for me VS DSP outfit.

not sure about your question on the tuner i guess... if you're asking which is better with your current mods, the answer is they're basically identical for the 03 guys (no trans support). If you're planning on doing a cam and custom tuning, your only choice is DSP.

Whats your question about custom tuning though? You dont have to take it to a dealer to get "flashed" or "read" or anything. you plug it in, save the current stock file on your truck, send it to the tuner so they know what your computer is telling your truck already, then they modify it based on what you're looking for (i.e. cam). They send it back to you via email and you load it into the DSP via usb cable, then onto the pcm with the DSP. All the programs needed are available for free download online
