Indeed, a bet that wasn't cheap.

I did the deed today and bought the engine/trans combo. Early next week I will get to watch the engine being broken in on the dyno.

When your log cutting stand doubles as a rear axle support! With a lot of grinding to do, standing upright is way better than bending over. Time to clean off the axle tubes and get ready for the four link suspension.

I finally got the 5 lug front brake rotors. They are the 10" off a '90 Dakota 2wd. They are the 5 x 4.5 lug pattern, same as the Ford rear end. This opens up the wheel selection by a huge margin. Also in the pic is the new slip yoke for the 6L80E trans. I had to return the one I bought for the 4L60E that I bought, since I changed direction on the drivetrain.

Grinding is fun! (said no one, ever...) First two bracket welds are gone. Next two, well, after I take a rest.

The engine and trans arrived at the shop today. I am beyond excited! I feel like Christmas when I was 12. I get to see it run on the dyno tomorrow, and bring it home on Friday.
